""I had a fantastic experience with this company when my front door lock broke. Ricky the technician arrived promptly, was courteous, and explained everything clearly. He quickly identified the issue, repaired the lock on the spot, and even gave me tips on how to maintain it for longer life. The pricing was fair, and I felt reassured knowing my home is secure again. His professionalism and attention to detail really stood out — I would definitely call him again for any future needs."

Customers say: Super punctual

"A very easy process. I called Baker Glass and told Jasón what we wanted done and he recommended a company that supplies glass doors. We visited their showroom and picked the door we wanted and Baker Glass took over from there. On the installation date Bill and his crew installed a new shower door system in our master bath, took the glass to our guest bath, removed contractor grade door system, installed ( thank goodness the entry space for the two showers was the same) the old glass from our master bath. The results were beautiful. Three days later my wife notices that if an overweight person was using the guest bath the door could hit the toilet entering or exiting. I called Mack Peebles the owner explained the situation and he sent a crew out to reverse the door at NO CHARGE. Unbelievable, Mr Peebles believes his customers must be satisfied and in doing the absolute best job at the lowest prices in Jacksonville, Florida."

FAQs for mirrors installation and replacement projects in Fernandina Beach, FL

If your mirror needs recoating, mirror resilvering costs between $110 and $350. Otherwise, you can replace just the glass if your mirror has a frame. You can get a mirror cut at a home improvement store or cut it yourself with a glass cutting tool. If the damage is extensive, there’s a chance you’ll have to replace both the frame and the glass.

Mirrors come in nearly any size, with your local home improvement store usually having 48-inch by 72-inch mirrors for a home gym or dance studio. You can also buy custom-designed mirrors in whatever size fits your needs. Oversized mirrors often start at $1,000 or more, depending on the size and design.

Mirrors are expensive because manufacturing them requires specialized machinery, such as a furnace that reaches ultra-high temperatures to produce molten glass, then a way to cool and form the glass. You cut mirrors with a diamond saw and coat them with metal to create a reflective surface. A silver-backed mirror also requires a chemical process, though most mirrors have an aluminum backing now. A framed mirror can also add to the price.

To look for a quality mirror, consider its purity, flatness, thickness, and reflective coating on the glass. The glass purity can ensure a distortion-free reflection, and thicker glass can decrease the chances of distortion as well. The reflective coating makes a difference, and high-quality mirrors will have several thicker coats of reflective material, like tin-mercury, aluminum, or silver.
