"Ghodi was outstanding. His communication was straight forward, timely and honest. Their prices were excellent. They replaced the double pane glass in seven of my windows. Ghodi's measurements were perfect and the scheduling fast. The installer was capable and competent but needed to be reminded numerous times to go back and finish the job properly ie - forgot to install two of the exterior trim pieces, left shoe marks on the walls after jumping into the window sill to do his work from inside and destroyed the screen he was supposed to replace. I haven't heard back from them yet about the screen replacement."

"I submitted a request into Home Advisor for replacement of a picture window that spontaneously shattered. Glass Depot responded within hours and came out the same evening. Within a week I had a beautiful new window installed. The process was seamless. The customer service was absolutely incredible. I was proactively kept abreast of the order and install date by phone and email. The men installing the window were professional, efficient, and organized. The clean up was excellent. It was so very easy to work with this company. I am currently struggling with a stone company and the difference is night and day. I cannot recommend Glass Depot highly enough!"

"I can't recommend this company/Attila enough. I was moving to a newly purchased house where the previous owners broke a window in the garage (and didn't fix it). I needed to have the window fixed in the sliver of time between when I took possession of the house and when I moved in -- and our closing got delayed. Attila was so calm (I was very stressed out) and accommodating. Yes, it was a simple job but it was an important one that was done well and with minimal added stress to me. After I moved in I asked for ideas about how to add screen doors to the french doors because I have indoor only cats that I didn't want to get out. He had some great ideas (and ones which were most cost effective than mine), promptly ordered and installed the screen doors (with special pet screening). When it comes time to replace my living room windows I will be giving him a call because not only does he do quality work, he is very professional and a very nice guy."

"Very positive. Honest, quality experience, good price. Flooded office: Removed plasterboard, insulation, vinyl plank flooring, gas furnace, toilet, sink & mirror, etc. Dried office, then put everything back together. Difficult 13 foot high ceilings required ladders. Excellent paint job. I've used Glassic for new windows and referred to friends and relatives for years. No complaints. Nice guy to work with."

"Very prompt (response w/in an hour) when trying to schedule an appointment. Then zero communication. No confirmation for the appointment so thank goodness I stayed home that day b/c they showed up. When asked about how to maintain our new grout with a daily or post shower cleaner, there were no recommendations they could provide. No cleaning requirements besides seal every year & clean with product once a year. Post inspection noticed some bad work under the mirror & wanted clarification on the process. Took pictures & sent to them via Angie's List messenger asking about the inconsistent work & mess. Wanted them to come back to correct, refund part of the amount paid if we have to clean up/finish the job & spend more money to do so. Funny never heard back & its been a couple of weeks."

FAQs for mirrors installation and replacement projects in Seattle, WA

If your mirror needs recoating, mirror resilvering costs between $110 and $350. Otherwise, you can replace just the glass if your mirror has a frame. You can get a mirror cut at a home improvement store or cut it yourself with a glass cutting tool. If the damage is extensive, there’s a chance you’ll have to replace both the frame and the glass.

Mirrors come in nearly any size, with your local home improvement store usually having 48-inch by 72-inch mirrors for a home gym or dance studio. You can also buy custom-designed mirrors in whatever size fits your needs. Oversized mirrors often start at $1,000 or more, depending on the size and design.

Mirrors are expensive because manufacturing them requires specialized machinery, such as a furnace that reaches ultra-high temperatures to produce molten glass, then a way to cool and form the glass. You cut mirrors with a diamond saw and coat them with metal to create a reflective surface. A silver-backed mirror also requires a chemical process, though most mirrors have an aluminum backing now. A framed mirror can also add to the price.

To look for a quality mirror, consider its purity, flatness, thickness, and reflective coating on the glass. The glass purity can ensure a distortion-free reflection, and thicker glass can decrease the chances of distortion as well. The reflective coating makes a difference, and high-quality mirrors will have several thicker coats of reflective material, like tin-mercury, aluminum, or silver.
