"Carpet One in Ponderay, Idaho has been a pleasure to do business with. They have a large and varied selection of tiles, flooring and carpet, their staff is knowledgeable, installation is great. But more than anything else, the store's customer satisfaction guarantee is real. Through no fault of Carpet One, we had some hardwoods installed which turned out to have a manufacturing defect. The manufacturer did not stand behind their product, but Carpet One did, and they replaced our hardwoods with a different manufacturer's product at no additional cost to us. It is rare to find a company which has the integrity to honor their guarantee and do what it takes to make sure their customers are satisfied with both their product and service, but this one does. Highly recommend this store!"

"ZERO STARS! Please, I’m begging you to not trust this company to do anything construction wise with your home or trust their project specialist .We have been dealing with a Home improvement NIGHTMARE For almost a year now & it is still not over. They are completely incompetent and the third-party construction company (LINDBERG CONSTRUCTION) that they send out to your home is a joke!! We had a $50,000 addition & deck put onto our home that has had to be redone 3 times & still isn’t done right! Do not trust the “specialist” JERRY DENTON that they send out to give you a quote, He won’t stick to the price agreed on and will add more and more cost onto the project telling you that it’s an “extra charge” even though You go through the quote with a fine tooth comb and ask specifically does this include EVERYTHING?? Once he swipes your credit card it is over!! Or the construction company LINDBERG CONSTRUCTION they send out to rip into your home. The construction guys consist of two teenagers that are idiots and are left with no supervision while they stumble through the project that you have paid for completely in advance!! They also complain the entire time about how busy they are but don’t start work until 10 every day, leave by 3 & take 3 day weekends almost every week and go on 2 vacations in the middle of your job. They will also LEAVE in the middle of YOUR PROJECT FOR 2-3 weeks while they slide in another project because I guess that one is just more important than yours!!! We waited for 9 months for $14,000.00 worth of patio doors through the winter while we heated our home at double the cost just to keep it slightly warm are still leaking!! They were ordered 3 times (by Jerry Denton) before they finally got the right size and could take out the ones that they had put in upside down and had plywood to fill in the gap’s through November, December, and January, the coldest months of the year. By the way the sliding doors don’t even open or close correctly and are a complete frustration! You Won’t be able to lock or secure your home at all during this time & they could care less!!! After months of going through the craziness we finally contacted the STORE MANAGER AARON Who told us he would be in touch a couple of times a week to give us an update on how things were progressing, HA! We heard from him two times and then he conveniently stop calling and won’t call back still to this day!! Having nowhere else to turn we called the corporate offices in another state after contacting the Better Business Bureau and all we get is the runaround from them & now they wont call us back either!!! The doors are still to this day leaking water from the roof into our home and don’t even slide open nicely, insulation around the doors is already falling off! & now we have water damage on the inside of the trim and Sheetrock that we have had to repair & paint 3 times. We have contacted absolutely everyone we can get a hold of through Lowe’s they told us that they will give us a refund of some sort for all of the inconvenience & problems we have had, they will conveniently stop calling us back, NEVER SENDING ANY COMPENSATION OR REFUND! NEVER BEEN SO ANGRY! We are a small business that saved for this project that we are now absolutely Disgusted with! I cannot express enough to not do any construction or home improvement project with Lowe’s or LINDBERG construction! We also have a deck that was absolutely nothing what we asked for & completely closed off a main feature of our backyard which is why we did the entire project to begin with! Completely cared less about us or this project! No reconciliation to make things right at all! Deck is already falling apart & has multiple gouge marks & scratches in decking. Looks like old material that he had sitting around. Center of deck is caving in after the first few months. See photos ⬇️ This is a multi million $ company that won’t stand by their work! We tried for 8 months to get somewhere with this company! Workmanship is a joke, Customer service from the highest level is a joke! DONT USE!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Firth, ID

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
