"Royal Roofing did a great job replacing our roof and gutters. When it came to the roof, they arrived at 7:30am and were done by 3pm. Before they began working everything was carefully tarped and protected – including the neighbor’s house. Throughout the project, Mike, the project manager, kept us up-to-date about the progress with pictures taken from a drone. The drone pictures were also given to us for our records. We had the gutters done on another day, and once again, the job was done right. There was attention to detail from start to finish. Both Mike, and Jamie who worked on the gutters, took pride in their work. The roof, gutters and soffits look great. The old roofing and gutters and the mess that goes with the jobs was removed and everything was cleaned up before they left. Mike, the project manager, was great. He came to our house with a drone for the estimate and familiarized us with the work that they do and the warranties that come with the job. "Excellent job Dominick the owner was on site to oversee the job. He was responsive to all our questions and concerns. He inspected the roof and showed us pictures of the damage. I also went up on the roof myself and saw the extensive damage to the T&G roof deck firsthand. "To many other roofers in the NYC Greater region- take note, Vandelay has you beat by quite a bit in terms of understanding a client and the particular needs of the job.  I went through a half dozen estimates and site visits; Vandelay and one other contractor where the only ones who were able to produce a timely, considered estimate.  And this was in the down season!
Regarding the job itself.  It presented several unknowns that Bob and his crew were able to work through and develop solutions to in a timely manner.  The demo went smoothly as well as the new installs and final flashing and chalking details.  At this point, the new roof has been through several storms and seems to be doing quite well.  If there is a problem, Bob seems more that capable to address per the contract, which I certainly appreciate.
Its clear he has a lot of experience doing what he knows, and doing it well.  He has good intuition and understanding of a job and the individuals and characters that might be involved, and how to work with them effectively (including myself likely :)
I've been through a couple of roof jobs at this point on various structures, and felt confident with Bob throughout the job; there were no instances that I felt were be minimized or neglected.  And importantly for a Condo building in NYC, Bob's crew made sure that they premise was CLEANER than when they left which is often a big deal with testy unit owners.
Overall, very pleased with both the estimation process, keeping on budget and timeframe and delivering a sound roof in material and craftmanship.  Highly recommended.
