"Water started leaking from a bedroom ceiling… Even though the leak was probably coming from the chimney flashing, I knew the roof was old enough for replacement. Based on their stellar reviews and clean record with consumer affairs, I called Four Seasons to make an appointment and get an estimate for repair or replacement. Although it was Dec. 31, Bill showed up on time, something I have found lacking with other construction people over the years. He was cordial and knowledgeable, and not aggressively pushy. I felt comfortable. Having done my own research, I found his price to be reasonable, not the cheapest or the most expensive. My main interest was workmanship quality and over the years have found cheapest is not usually the best, nor is most expensive. His crew arrived within 10 days, and on time. Their work was one of the most professional I have ever seen. In fact, when they were finished, my property was cleaner than when they started. After they left, you wouldn’t even know they were there. The leak is repaired and the new roof is beautiful. I highly recommend them."

I also went up on the roof myself and saw the extensive damage to the T&G roof deck firsthand. "Several gas lines crossed this apartment-building roof on a mixture of old wood blocks and improvised metal supports. The modified-bitumen membrane underneath had reached the end of its useful life, but the piping could not be pushed aside while the roof was replaced. Some of the wood blocks had also retained moisture and worn shallow depressions into the cap sheet. A licensed plumbing contractor inspected the lines and developed a sequence for raising and supporting them without interrupting service to the whole building. The roofing crew worked in sections beneath the temporary supports, removing the old membrane and replacing damp insulation where the blocks had been sitting. New two-ply modified-bitumen roofing was installed before the pipes were lowered onto broad, nonpenetrating supports. Residents received notice before the brief service interruption needed for the final adjustments. The replacement supports kept metal edges away from the membrane."

Regarding the job itself.  It presented several unknowns that Bob and his crew were able to work through and develop solutions to in a timely manner.  The demo went smoothly as well as the new installs and final flashing and chalking details.  At this point, the new roof has been through several storms and seems to be doing quite well.  If there is a problem, Bob seems more that capable to address per the contract, which I certainly appreciate.
Its clear he has a lot of experience doing what he knows, and doing it well.  He has good intuition and understanding of a job and the individuals and characters that might be involved, and how to work with them effectively (including myself likely :)
I've been through a couple of roof jobs at this point on various structures, and felt confident with Bob throughout the job; there were no instances that I felt were be minimized or neglected.  And importantly for a Condo building in NYC, Bob's crew made sure that they premise was CLEANER than when they left which is often a big deal with testy unit owners.
Overall, very pleased with both the estimation process, keeping on budget and timeframe and delivering a sound roof in material and craftmanship.  Highly recommended.
