"Excellent craftsmanship reupholstering our 1990s sofa and loveseat combination. Bernie and Samir's expertise is displayed on how the green striped fabric matched when viewed from the furniture's bottom trim up the seat to the back cushions. The stripe pattern continued matching in the cording on the furniture, cushions and throw pillows. Bernie suggested replacing the 2 and 3-cushion configurations seats with a long single-cushion style for easier lounging/sleeping on either piece. I also commented it would eliminate 'losing' the remote/cell phone/money/stylus/glasses/sundry items between cushions. The single-cushion design greatly improves the seating arrangement and comfort as there is no cushion seam. Upholstering older furniture is definitely the wiser choice keeping the excellent construction of the piece while upgrading it with new cushions and fabric. Bernie was helpful in answering my questions regarding material, price and scheduling initially communicating online then by phone and visiting the shop. "I was shown which fabric books would have more traditional fabrics in line with the chair style and vintage. I found several possibilities, but I found one in particular which seemed suitable. The fabric was ordered in sufficient quantity to place the center of the design in the center of each of the back, the seat, and behind the back. The end result is just as I'd wished. The fabric is lovely on the chair. One front wooden caster (as fits the Eastlake parlor chair style) was fitted back into the leg which had a split at the attachment, and the leg was made sturdy. Some touch up on the wood was done. The innards of the chair were made more sturdy. This breathed new life into this chair but with a look in keeping with the vintage style. "Their price was a little high. The price wasn't outrageous; they just quoted for the actual work, but not for the material that needed to be added in. The cost was far from what I wanted to do. They quoted $740 for upholstering plus the 17-yard of materials. It was a little more than I could spend, instead I could have bought a new sofa. They were very professional. I left the message and they called back within 20 minutes. I felt that they were a little too professional. They gave the quote, that's it and they hung up the phone. They said that they would come out to the house, but I had to go to the store to pick up the material before they come to my house. To drive all the way from my place to theirs, I would rather choose somebody closer."
