"This was the very best experience. Clint understood exactly what I wanted and provided it with the best quality of materials and workmanship. My sunroom actually exceeded what I expected to be. It is beautiful and perfect. I highly recommend Clint. We have used his services in the past also on a previous house and his work does not disappoint ever."

"We had a worn out and falling apart fence. With two dogs and being next to the community mailboxes we knew it was time for a new fence. We contacted a few fencing companies and checked the home stores. We contacted All Area Fence because a coworker recommended them. They came promptly to the house for a free estimate at a time convenient for us. Their estimate was the lowest and we liked that it was a family run business. When they arrived to begin work they let us know they under estimated the actual cost, but told us not to worry they stand by their estimates. They managed to tear down our old fence and build out our new fence in two days. This happened two days before a Hurricane Matthew came through. We are happy to report the fence made it through the storm with no damage."

"Great job - Steve came out and quoted when he said he would, the price was fair, and the work was done very quickly, within 2 weeks. His workers were skilled, showed up every day on time, were courteous, and they all did a great job. I would definitely recommend Steve for any remodeling and repair work!"

"These people are terrific. They were responsive to my request and could not have been more accommodating or more conscientious.
Here's the story:  I called for an estimate to refinish the vents on our roof because they had not been painted by the prior owner and were an eyesore.  As I said to the estimator, who showed up promptly at the appointed time, I wanted them all to "disappear from view."  After surveying our roof, he gave me a price of $250, including replacing the dryer vent gooseneck which had rusted due to lack of proper finishing.  He told me the work would be scheduled and complete within a week.
Three days later a crew showed up, replaced the gooseneck and initially painted only the pipes, which was their understanding from the work order of the scope of the work I had requested. Without creating tension or making me feel fault, the First Coast team quickly determined that the estimator had misunderstood what I had wanted.  This could have easily gone in the "you didn't tell us that" direction.  Instead, they immediately assumed that I was in the right.  As a consequence of the miscue, they did not have enough paint to do the entire job on Friday and asked if they could come on the weekend to complete the work.  One of the crew arrived late Sunday morning and completed the work.  Amazing service!
Because they used paint specifically formulated to match our shingles, everything did "disappear" just as I had wanted.  More, they sanded where required and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need.  They also told me that our roof was in terrific shape and should last another 10-15 years.
When we do need a new roof, I'll be calling First Coast.  When family and friends ask about roof repair and replacement, I'll be recommending First Coast.

FAQs for shed, barn or playhouse building service projects in Fleming Island, FL

Most sheds larger than six feet by eight feet require a foundation to remain level and dry. A compact tool shed might get by without one, but anything heavier should sit on at least a 4-inch-thick stone-and-gravel pad that extends two feet past the walls. The gravel protects wood skids and promotes drainage. If you want maximum stability—and your budget allows—a poured concrete slab is the strongest option.

Your ideal shed size hinges on purpose. A common 10-by-12-foot kit gives you 120 square feet—plenty for lawn tools and bikes. Need just a spot for a mower and a few rakes? A compact 4-by-7-foot model should work. If you’re envisioning a workshop or hobby room, look at 12-by-16 feet or larger.

A good rule is to raise the shed floor four to six inches above the surrounding soil. That clearance encourages water to drain away instead of pooling beneath the structure. The simple step is especially important for wood floors and skids, helping deter rot, mold, and insect damage while extending the life of your new outbuilding.

Choose the route that fits your goals. Prefab sheds arrive in standard layouts and go up fast—perfect for basic storage on a tight timeline. Custom builds cost more and take longer, but let you add windows, wiring, plumbing, and unique finishes. Balance budget, features, and timeframe before deciding which type of shed is best for your needs.
