"As anyone with a motorhome knows, the carpets fade and discolor very badly. We were provided with an estimate over the phone from Color Your Carpet. The final price was within the range quoted. They arrived promptly at the specified appointment time. After a brief discussion about what color I wanted, they mixed up a color that was exactly what I was looking for! They were done quickly and we are VERY happy with the results! My 10 year old RV carpet looks almost like new, for a fraction of what replacing it would have cost. I highly recommend Rich and Color Your Carpet! <br /> <br />"

"After researching several flooring companies in the area, I settled on Joe's Carpet to purchase vinyl tile flooring for my kitchen.  The folks in the showroom were very cordial and helpful, allowing me to take several tile samples home until I decided which pattern I preferred. The owner came to my home to measure and write up a contract. It only took a few days for the materials to be ordered and delivered and the installers came on the designated day.  My kitchen had more than average number of angles to be cut around but the installers were quite precise and careful throughout the whole long job, even under the stove and refrigerator..  I was entirely satisfied with the whole experience. <br />"

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"<p>They started in bedroom and ran out of materials and he (owner Randy) claimed it was not his fault, even though he did the measuring.  He actually looked at me like I was going to pick up the $500 or $600 difference in the measuring mistake.  He then quoted me a price to do the Dining Room and Den which I had not fully decided to do up to that point.  The price he gave me was the same price he had quoted me in the beginning (before the measuring mistake) when we were considering doing all 3-rooms?   We decided to add the dining room and den at that point once I saw the actual floor down in the bedroom.  Then, we had to wait weeks with the bedroom and closets half emptied out and scattered in different places while waiting for balance of the floor for the bedroom to come in.  Once the floor came in Randy and his crew finished the bedroom, dining room and den.  They were going to leave and I said that I wanted the floor done that day.  He said 'Oh, we were going to give you a break'   I knew if they left it would be a mess I would have to deal with again - whenever he would get around to coming back - and I just wanted it finished.  When they finished that day, I asked Randy about the trim being too high in the dining room where the floor around the dining room touched up against the tile leading into the kitchen, foyer areas and he said it needed to <strong>settle</strong>.  Waited couple weeks for it to <strong>settle</strong> and called him telling him that it was still too high and need to be adjusted.  He personally called me and made an appointment that he later denied making.  He missed the appt.  Total no show.  Devon, from his office, called me prior to the appt to schedule an appt and I told Devon that Randy already called me and made an appt.  Never heard back from anyone and Randy never showed up.  He did, however, show up the Sat before the scheduled appt, unannounced, and said he would be back, he spoke with my husband who was surprised to see him.  Finally, weeks later, he sent two men out to finish the job on 4/22/15.  They had to remove the entire trim, then glue and trim with a saw to make it fit the way it should have been done the first time.  Funny, it seemed to need no <strong>settling</strong> this time.  Seems to me he wanted to leave early the day of the install and did a hurry-up job on the trim with the <strong>'settling'</strong> excuse..  Again, we had to wait weeks for the job to be finished.  Very unprofessional in my opinion, and when I brought up the missed appt, he (Randy) had an attitude and did not want to talk about it and even denied making it!  He flat out made the appt and lied about it - PERIOD!  I will admit, the actual floor does look great and they did a good job installing it, except for the time it took and the trim situation.  I found him on Angie's List and used him because of that reason but will never use him again or recommend him.</p> <p>FLOOR WAS ORDERED 1/20/15</p> <p>INSTALL STARTED 2/20/15 (ran out of materials)</p> <p>INSTALL COMPLETED (except for trim situation referenced above) 3/18/15</p> <p>TRIM FINISHED 4/22/25<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Trim finishing was not right once I notice a hole in the baseboard that was not there before and two edges are not lined up.  Called him around 4/23rd and he said he would be out when he is in the area... to date (5/6/15) he has not been here.</p> <p>Would never use this company again.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <p> </p> <br />"

"The initial sales evaluation went well. Rooms were measured and replacement carpet selected. Price negotiated and regarded fair, adjusted for prior military vet. Informed at that time COD required before installation activity. Day one of delivery found wrong carpet was on truck, didn't match delivery and order paper work, returned to shop no money required. Day two of delivery correct carpet on truck but incorrect carpet cost numbers on delivery paperwork. Corrected and installation begun. Old carpeting and padding removed and new padding installed throughout house. New carpeting installed on half of house, good job no seams observed. For second half of house found carpet rolls were correct color but not perfect match, any seaming would show. Therefore, returned to shop for single carpet roll that would cover second half of house but would still need seaming from the one carpet roll. Day three of delivery (two days later) carpet installed on second half of house, went well with no seams showing. Must say for all the hassle everything was done to make sure the carpet selected was correct, that installation was proper and professional. They were doing right by the customer. But understand why they wanted the money before ever unloading the truck, some customers may not want the hassle."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Floral City, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
