"We received four bids to replace our asphalt driveway with poured concrete. Although Castle wasn't the lowest bid we received, we felt comfortable with Kevin and decided to hire his company. The work was delayed due to weather (the amount of rain we received in the St. Louis area in the Spring 2019 was horrible), but once it did begin, we were very happy. The crew was professional and did everything it could to avoid blocking traffic. The foreman communicated with us throughout, making sure we were happy with how the progress was going. "Domian responded when three other concrete contractors wouldn't even answer the phone to give us a bid. They said that they usually work on larger jobs than ours but they would give us a price if we would agree to be flexible on the work date.  Since our job was a smaller one, their plan was to complete the work when they could couple it with another job nearby.  We agreed.

It took a few weeks to get scheduled but they came and did nice work over 2 days and were very courteous to my wife who was home during part of their work. It started to rain after the concrete was poured and one of the workers said he lived nearby and if weather posed a threat he would return to cover their work. The rain was light, no cover was needed and the sidewalk looks good. The buried downspout now empties rainwater harmlessly to another part of our yard instead of the walk up to our front door which will be a major improvement when winter comes.

I should also add that our sidewalk was not a routine install. It was located over a section of side yard that had a layer of solid rock that prevented the usual dirt removal and form set. The brought a bobcat to clear the path so that the sidewalk would follow a smooth, level path parallel to the street.

There were no surprises. They did what they promised and their workmanship was excellent."

"One of our exterior concrete steps leading down to the exterior basement door was split apart and missing a large portion, the retaining wall along side that step was cracked and another step was missing a piece of the surface. Al let me know of a certain kind of vertical surfacing concrete he wanted me to pick up so I could save  money instead of him billing for picking up supplies.
The materials cost $60, he charged 65$ per hour and it came out to $146.25. So he bills in 15 minute increments which is nice. The steps dried within 24 hours and looked good considering it was a patch and not an entire replacement. Our two alternative bids from flatwork companies were around $2000.

"There were no problems other than some delays getting started and during the work at least in part due to rain. They laid a new foundation for the bricks, rebuilt the wall under the window and painted it. In a separate project they removed the old side walk and laid a wider new one. They reseeded the grass along the walk that had been disturbed and cleaned up after themselves. Overall pleased with the work and would hire again."
