"I contacted Hentges Carpentry for an exterior door install during the first week of March for an exterior door install after finding them through Home Advisor. Raine, the owner, came and gave me an estimate and luckily was able to get to our project later that week even with the snow and cold. I purchased the door and new lock hardware the day of the estimate although he could have ordered it for me also. He and his coworker Chris arrived on time and got right to work. They did an excellent job and even replaced some rotten wood beneath the door once it was removed. They worked quickly although I never once felt the that they rushed through the job. They were both very friendly and kept me informed throughout the project with what they found and the methods they would use to fix it. The cost was right on par with the other estimates I recieved. I would absolutely recommend them for anyone needing work! Thank you for your hard work fellas!"

"The first guy that came out misdiagnosed the problem.  We had to have them come out again.  He didn't charge us, and did the correct repair.  They were OK with pricing.  Most repair places don't apply the service call charge to the repair charge, but Sears did.  The first person I talked to on the phone didn't know what she was talking about.  That call was very challenging, possibly because of a language barrier.  I would use them again."

"It went very well. Justin not only knows what to check, he also makes suggestions on repair priorities. He gave good estimates for problems found during the inspection. I like his think out loud approach. Great guy. I've learned so much when tagging alone with him during inspection! Moreover, he is very responsive and patient to my questions after the inspection. "It went fine, and they do their work quickly and efficiently.  From what I can tell, they are a reputable contractor who will hold up their end of the bargain.  I would work with them again.  That being said, I've relayed to them that there were a couple of things they could do on future jobs to improve their service:
1) Let the homeowner know when they are there and begin working.  They showed up and got right to work without ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door.  They also did not let us know when they were done, so we didn't know when it would be okay to lock up.
2) It would have been nice if they put up some plastic sheeting to contain dust when cutting into the foundation. Although they didn't create a ton of dust, that stuff is so incredibly fine that it's miserable to clean up. Had I known they weren't planning to hang up some plastic I would have strung it up myself to avoid that headache.
The city inspector came by to close out the permit and noted that they forgot to caulk along the exterior of the window and more foam should be used in the remaining block cavities. These really aren't tough for me to finish up, but they should have a checklist to run through before they leave the work site.
