When they came to give me the estimate, I pointed out problem areas and was impressed when they made suggestions to improve areas I didn't even think about. One of the problem areas, I consistently had water in the basement in heavy rains and thought that gutters would fix it (or at least help). It turns out due to improper installation of flashing on the roof, I was getting water just coming straight into the house, thus my basement.
