"Eugene was very prompt with contacting us to look over the job and give a quote. The job was done beautifully by his two floor refinishers and they took a total of four days from start to finish. Eugene recommended the correct finish for the oak floors which complimented the oak hardwood steps that were not refinished. "My wife and I highly recommend Modern Flooring Services. We had 450 square feet of an irregular shaped floor covered with carpet upstairs that we wanted to replace with wood flooring. Modern Flooring Services provided a contractor to provide an initial estimate and a list of supplies needed to purchase. Then they sent a consummate professional and craftsman to install our floor. His name was Patrick, and he started by explaining what we should expect when he removed the carpet, prepared the subfloor, and then installed the wood. He provided different options for how the wood could be angled based on the floor layout. Then he went to work, and we can’t praise his work ethic enough. He is one of the hardest workers I know. He also did a great job of minimizing the dust. If we opt to install new flooring in the future, we will definitely hire Modern Flooring and request Patrick to install the floor."

"The job went well, until the finish work was begun, then thing took a sour note. The filling of the cracks in the wood was done fast and poor. The filler was to liquid and shrank leaving space for dirk to get in between the boards. The top coat was put on in thick wavy layers, only two thickness instead of many thin coats. The transition pieces to the sliding glass door was never completed and the company will not respond to my request to finish. They sent a man out in March to measure for the piece and picked up the stain I bought to stain the wood to match. Since then I have set (3) three messages to the company with no response."
