"Alex and Donavan were very thorough. Discovered more than what we called them for. We originally wanted information on sealing cracks to eliminate cricket infestation coming through cracks in stem wall. We were not interested in repairing foundation rebar which is typical in slab homes in AZ. They were knowledgeable and honest in their evaluation of our home. "

"Titus and Loren at Phelps Precision Innovations were a pleasure to work with and did an incredible job remodeling our property in Sedona. The remodel was extensive and they were very efficient and the quality of work was too notch. I highly recommend them to anyone needing any GC or even handyman services.."

"This is the second job I have used Caleb for, and I have to say he is one of the best contractors I have ever dealt with.  When he says he will do something, it will be done.  He and his crew are very professional!   If you are strictly looking for the lowest bidder, he may or may not beat the competition, but I have found you usually get what you pay for.  With CM, you will always get a job well done. <br />"

"I know nothing about construction. M3 is a family owned business and has exceptional reviews, which is why I selected them (after getting several other quotes). This was my first remodel on my first home (which is REALLY old) - I had LOTS of questions, and M3 was very responsive and patient with me throughout the whole process. They took a very family oriented approach with me and I never felt that they were out to make the big bucks with me. When I was designing the remodel, Brian provided me with his recommendations, and M3 did things for me that I didn't even request (like put together a ceiling fan and come up with a better solution to my electrical issue that saved me A LOT of money). They were very fast - in and out within a week for a whole kitchen remodel. I rated them a and quot;Band quot; in quality as some of the tiny 1/2 inch glass backsplash aren't 100% aligned. Also, the countertops were ordered before the cabinets were installed. The backsplash is not noticeable unless I point it out (it's just me being picky). They were absolutely wonderful and I believe I paid an excellent price for what I got. Come time for my bathroom remodel, they will be the ones I call. <br />"

"We felt like he was charging too much, and we were going to get less home than we hoped for, but hired him to begin when other builders didn't check out. Then, we talked to some friends who agreed---he was charging too much.  We decided to let him finish the drawings for the two thousand we paid, but then were surprised to learn that all our $2000 had bought us were some junk computer sketches that couldn't be used to actually build. What's more, he didn't seem to care about design and flow---I felt like he's just trying to keep the cash flow coming in to pay for the huge overhead his large construction firm demands. We paid him the last installment for his junk drawings knowing that we wouldn't go with him. <br />      We instead went with another builder in town, who for less money and besides giving us the new living room and laundry room, gave us an extra bedroom and bathroom, with amazing flow between rooms. <br />"

"The Northern Arizona Restoration team was incredibly prompt, providing an on-site assessment within 24 hours, with team members starting the restoration work within just a few hours of the initial assessment.  Various team members returned over the next several days, completing different tasks, with the entire process being wrapped up within a week of the incident.  In the end, if you didn't know what and where it had happened, you wouldn't be able to point out where the restoration took place. <br />"

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Forest-lakes, AZ

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
