"We chose VKB mainly on its reviews on this website. Overall the experience was very positive. We were pleased to learn that VBK did not charge a fee upfront to design the kitchen. Calvin (kitchen designer) made excellent suggestions to improve our original vision and was responsive to changes to the design. Calvin convinced us to choose wood floor and crown molding, and the type of range hood, and he was right on all counts! Because of the smooth design process with Calvin and reasonable price, we decided to sign on with VBK over other companies. The implementation phase had some bumps: the design drawings that Jason (project manager) and Ismar (crew leader) started with were not the updated version, but thankfully that was quickly rectified. In addition there were some misunderstanding on the scope of the painting area, but Calvin agreed to honor what we had discussed verbally, even though it was not spelled out in the contract. Jason listened and patiently explained the project process, and kept asking to make sure that we were happy with the progress. For example, he agreed to redo the placement of the undercabinet lights. He also accommodated our desire to donate our old cabinets to Habitat for Humanity, and Ismar and his crew carefully took the down the cabinets and stored them in our garage for pickup later in the week. Ismar, Luis, and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job installing and painting everything, and their experience showed in disguising the fact that our walls were not straight and the floor was not even. We were also impressed with the laser tools that they used to guide cabinet and light placements. The crew was careful, meticulous, and respectful, and they cleaned up throughly every day. There were other crews handling the flooring and countertops, who also did top notch work, and all were coordinated like clockwork by Jason. Along the way, we learned some lessons and offer the following advice: if you are particular about the placement of your celling lights, electrical outlets and switches, let the crew know, and they will do their best to accommodate. Also, pay attention to every single detail in the contract; if not specified, there can be a misunderstanding, and a deviation may require a change order and extra expense. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the excellent quality of the work, and even though there was a delay in the backsplash order, the job finished as projected. We definitely recommend VKB, and we love our new kitchen. Jason -- we are happy!"

"The work they did for me was beautiful and they left no mess! They even came out three months later to lengthen my downspout to clear the new patio I had laid down."

"couldn't be happier with the outstanding work done by FA Outdoor Space company. From the initial consultation through project completion, they demonstrated true professionalism and craftsmanship. The attention to detail was outstanding, and they took the time to understand exactly what we wanted while offering the best value for our circumstances. The deck was completed on schedule, the work area was kept clean throughout the process, and the quality of work exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this builder to anyone looking for top-quality deck construction and would definitely hire them again for future projects."

"

The window replacements were done 3-4 years ago.  The windows are good quality.  The measurement of one window was not done properly and the installer did a fix by adding spray foam.  The deck was done 2 years ago.  The deck installers were fired as they made so many mistakes.  The deck install was suppose to be done in a week, it took 3 weeks.

I had a service tech com out to check a deck problem in May.  He is no longer working there and was laid off with almost all of the staff in Gaithersburg.  I called over a week ago for a service follow-up call.  The receptionist in Baltimore answered the phone, as there is no one in Gaithersburg and the phones are forwarded.  I am still waiting more than a week for a follow-up service phone call to be returned by the person who schedules service calls.   I have no idea how long it will take before someone can come to my home.  I am concerned that if I had a major problem, I would be waiting months to get a window repaired.

"After meeting with numerous contractors in January 2020; we choose to work with Persky Custom Builders and the owner Josh Persky. They did a fantastic job remodeling my parent's dated kitchen on budget and in the timeframe promised. The whole project start to finish went well and my Mom is thrilled with her new kitchen. I am very impressed with the workmanship, attention to detail, and care put into the job by Josh and crew. When minor hiccups came up, Josh was always calm, candid, addressed issues quickly, even going above and beyond what was required. It was such a pleasure; we'll definitely work with Persky Builders on future projects. If you are looking to improve your home, look no further than Persky Custom Builders"

"Brad and his team at Elite Decks were great! Brad was very reasonable on price, and honest about what was worth paying for. Getting the job details figured out was no hassle. His team was very respectful and clean with their work. We had a very complex job of an enclosed deck with a shed underneath, an outdoor patio and a walkway to the front. Our property is on a hilly slope so pretty tough job. Paul (head contractor) was very easy going, no complaints, made changes and adjustments on my feedback. Overall an excellent job. We like them so much we’re having them do my in-laws deck too. Highly recommend."

"Clear Cut Building is phenomenal. My wife and I are incredibly satisfied with the Fence and Deck Shane and his team built for us. Shane and his team were diligent and responsive. They took their time to ensure complete perfection. Shane even helps with financing if you do not have access to funds or do not want to deplete savings. Shane and Clear Cut will be finishing a room in our basement by the end of the year. Do not waste your time going with dishonest providers. Go with Clear Cut."

"Ron our site manager responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had about the project. Chris, who did the majority of the work was very professional and considerate. He was on time every morning and if he wasn't coming out that day he called to let us know. We have not had any issues with the work that was done and are very happy with the addition. We would definitely use Coastal Builders again.
