"I contacted Distinctive Painting through Angie's List, and Mario called me back promptly to make an appointment to come to my home.  We settled on a day and time to view the stained ceilings on the first floor of my townhouse (due to ice dam damage) and give me an estimate.  He arrived on time, looked at what needed to be done, and told me he would e-mail me a written estimate within a few days.  However, I received the estimate the very next day, and thought it was very fair.  Since it was a very busy time of the year for him, he said he could only give me an approximate date to do the work which was the first or second week of July.  Once again, Mario was ahead of schedule, and he contacted me to make an appointment for Friday, July 3.  He and Jay arrived on time at 8:00 A.M., and by 2:00 P.M., the painting was completed.  They were meticulous in making sure all my furniture, counters, etc. were well covered, and helped me move all the breakable items out of harm's way.  The finished ceilings looked beautiful, and I was very pleased with their work, friendliness, and professionalism.  I highly recommend this company, and would most definitely use them again.

"They knocked it out in a day and a half.  They cleaned up the old shingles and used a machine to pick up nails.  They also cleaned my gutters.  It wasn't a bad price and I got a lifetime warranty.  The first day they came early and stayed late."

"Initial service call was to clean out air ducts.  Inspection found mold in ducts and air handler.  Revised job was $700 to clean, disinfect, and apply anti-mold solution to AC system, and to provide and install a UV light to help prevent mold issues from returning.
The cleaning went reasonably quickly, but they didn't have a UV lamp with them, so a return visit was scheduled.
The UV lamp was installed on the return visit, but due to a lack of electrical outlets in my attic, it is not currently active.  This is not the contractor's fault, but it would have been nice to know before purchasing the product.

"Initially I felt that the repairs were excellent, liked the colors they chose which matched the house colors and brightened things up.Later, I noticed that some of the boards on the back stairs were cracking and that the boards were not cut evenly.  I called Jorge (who was my contact at that time) and informed him what had happened.  He sounded not interested, did not want anymore information.  No one came to investigate.  I waited a few months and called the company back and spoke with Johnny who informed me that Jorge did not work there anymore.  I discussed with Johnny what had happened and he informed me that there would be someone to come and look at the stairs, etc.  Within one week a company supervisor came by to survey the job and reported that that's not how we do things.  Last week they came by and fixed the stairs etc.  Now everything looks great.  It was a pleasure to work with Johnny and perhaps I may do business with them again, but not in the immediate future. The grades on this review reflect the current people with the company not the ones who originally did the work."

"He was accommodating enough in his booking however, when the person came he told me he would vacuum the rugs first then clean. He never vacuumed, it was three rooms and two small hallways that he did and I didn't see any kind of pre treatment before the job. I was ask to look things over the job after it was completed and as you know its hard to tell much from a wet rug. There were noticeable pockets of debris that had not been cleaned and I purchased additional scotch guard protector which he applied with a pump sprayer. That application seemed to be very uneven and left my carpets very sticky. Somehow the scotch guard spray got sprayed all over my bathroom floor and had to wash the floor after he left. The gentleman was polite enough and he did ask me to check the job but two days later when I went back the stains started to pop through. I felt as though I should have been shown what stains he identified, which ones would be problematic and I felt there should have been a little more conversation with the home owner. He also ask me not to wright the check out to the companies name but to write it out to the proprietor. I thought that was a little strange but the price was good. The owner did call me to see if I was satisfied with the job but I have not returned his call. They were right on time and I will not use them again."
