"My backyard had a failing timber wall that the previous owner had propped up with posts, and had allowed it to lean into rapidly deteriorating shed. Jim's crew came in, removed the shed and timber wall, and also removed an intact but inadequate stone wall extending from the backyard to the street, a total distance of around 40 feet. He replaced that entire length with a beautiful split-faced masonry wall and poured a new concrete walkway to improve access to the backyard. Jim is the ultimate professional. He takes great pride in his work, loves to talk masonry and answer questions about the project, and is very transparent about pricing. The walkway was an add-on to the original project scope due to some unexpected circumstances uncovered during excavation, but he explained this at length and took photos so I could see why the additional work was required. I would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend his services."

"I had a bad experience with another mason who was re-building the retaining wall and interviewed several other masons to get their opinions and estimates. Right away I knew Carl was the man for the job. He understood what I wanted and gave me the courage to insist the other mason remove his work and refuse to pay the price he wanted. He's very personable and knowledgeable and his estimate was reasonable. We did not intend to have landscape lighting originally and it added about $3800 to the total cost but we love it. We couldn't stretch to do all the lighting suggested but when we came home they were installing some of those lights as a surprise for us, at no charge! The job was started when he said it would be and they always showed up when expected. During time when the crew was waiting for materials to be delivered they cut new edges on our existing foundation plantings just to keep busy. All the workmen were polite, friendly and hard-working. We asked for some changes to the stonework which were accomplished without any fuss. The nursery gave them the wrong plants for one area in the back and when I pointed it out the incorrect plants were removed and the correct ones installed although Carl had to drive quite a distance to find them. We will be having work done next year on another wall and planting area and we definitely plan to use Waterscapes again. I feel so lucky to have found Carl - he's the easiest contractor I've ever worked with and I'm pretty fussy!"

"Both Josephs were responsive, courteous, and knowledgeable- They called and came to look at the problem within half a day of my initial inquiry. I was lucky that they happened to be working on another house just a couple of blocks away. So, they came the next day to do work : 1. Fill cracks on the ground, and build a run-off in the alley way to stop water from damaging the exterior wall, and going down to the basement. The basement did remain dry after 2 days of rain after. 2. a few days later, replaced 2 cracked bricks on the facade of the house. I am very impressed with how Joe F. took time to seal the mortar around the bricks so carefully...beautiful work. I recommend them very much!"
