"Very comfortable in dealing with Tim. This is a big job for us. He repaired damaged wood floors and then added wood where there was carpet in the remaining downstairs. Then he re-carpeted the rest of the house. In all he replaced or repaired every square inch of flooring in our house.
Overall great guy. Workers were nice. They showed up on time and the job was finished on time as promised. We had Tim's cell and he was always available to talk.
When selecting the carpet and choosing the type of hardwood and stain color Tim went with us step by step and treated it as his own house.

"

"I can't say enough good things about the Carolina Restoration Services crews and their clean up work and all their people and subcontractors they have on contracts for restoration work.
On or about 5/20/15, we contacted Carolina Restoration Services along with our insurance company, Nationwide Insurance, as the result of a newly discovered cracked and broken condensation pipe in our attic, the end result of damages caused by Raleigh Heating and Air during their semi-annual inspection of our HVAC systems.
Alexander Lamont came out first from CRS and inspected to check the damages. Then Scott Jones from CRS was called in as the supervisor/project manager of the jobs. He got the jobs lined up and scheduled in order of what needed to be done first.
G. Ross Cohen was our Property Adjuster at Nationwide Insurance.
Keith Southern and Charles Ross headed up the water removal.
Since the initial leak first showed up in my art studio, I had to remove all the stained glass sheets to insure no one cut their hands moving it. Once this was accomplished, all the damaged carpet, padding, flooring, woodwork trim, was cut out first and accomplished by Eliceo and Nelson. After the water pipe repairs were made, the ruined, water soaked insulation was also replace by CRS.
The manager at CRS is Christy Davidson and she was always in contact with both myself and her crew, monitoring the progress of their work. Maribel and Maria packed up all my antique china and breakables, everything and handled it as if it were their own. They took such great care of EVERYTHING.
The moving company called in to do the heavy lifting/moving was All the Right Moves. Their team of Rob, Sam, Anderson, and Lamont moved everything out effortlessly and then moved it all back in again, placing everything exactly as I asked. The furniture included an upright piano, and two very large china hutches, as well a large 4 piece antique breakfront, all of which where extremely heavy antiques.
A+B Abbey Carpet, Mark Anders worked with us helping us select comparable carpet to mesh with the remainder of the house, along with our furniture. His work crew, from ProSource included Luis, Horacio, and Junior and they worked like troupers getting the padding in then laying in the carpet, stretching it, and vacuuming it to ensure it was perfect before any furniture came in.
All the members of the extensive crews worked with us every step of the way to ensure the least amount of disruption. Scott Jones called us giving us a 24 hour notice before anyone came and scheduled everything based on our convenience.
At the time this work was underway, I learned 3/4 of the carpet had to go because of our open floor plan. I determined it was time to complete the refurbishing of several rooms in the house before the new carpet went down. While the men worked in other areas, drying everything out, I began my work. I began priming, painting the rooms so everything would be fresh when the carpet went in. Everyone worked with my, on my time frame, as I got my work completed. They never rushed me, put any pressure on me, but just kept checking in to learn of my progress so they could plan a timeline of when they could schedule their work. As a result of this, everything went smoothly. Our furniture was put back in place by Christmas. I began unpacking the boxes and gradually it all came back together.
Carolina Restoration Services and their crew of people made this nightmare bearable. I can highly recommend them for their skills, their professionalism, their patience, their understanding, and their reasonable attitude. Their work took almost a year to complete.
The only thing CRS did not do was to do any priming and painting of the walls or ceilings and I determined to do this myself. I am completing the priming and painting of the pantry, (the last of the damaged rooms) and have some boxes yet to get unpacked, but our main home is back together again.
I can also suggest you avoid using Raleigh Heating and Air at all costs. All the $15,000 of water damages were a direct result of the poor quality service work done by RHA.
"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Louisburg, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
