"Highly recommend C & R for their prompt and professional services and going the extra mile to satisfy their customers. Wanted a waterproof flooring for my family, kitchen, and bath. My salesman Joe recommended CORTEC flooring and I went with a gray tone flooring. It look beautiful, love how great it came out. The lead installer, Armando was the bomb, he and his crew wasted no time getting up the carpet and laying down the flooring. It’s now just one seamless flow from room to room. Didn’t like the standard picture frame look around the fireplace so my salesperson Joe, brained stormed to come up with solutions. Armando came back out removed it, tweeted the area some, and I am thrilled with the new look. See pictures below"

"Main Street Oriental Rugs did a great job cleaning our Persian rug. We accidentally dropped a wine glass and splashed red wine all along a white border. Main Street came to the rescue. They picked up the rug the same day that I called, moved a heavy coffee table to get to it, and returned it, clean, as promised 10 days later. They did a deep cleaning and I can honestly say the colors are more vibrant now than when we sent it out. The red spots have vanished and we are very pleased with the outcome. We could not be happier. Thank you so much."

"Installation date occurred as promised, was efficiently done and looked good.  In the 3 weeks between ordering and installation, I was shopping in a lot of ''big box' stores and think I may have gotten a better deal and higher quality carpet at Lowe's or Home Depot.  His price seemed a bit high ($1247 for 2 bedrooms). <br />"

"Jacks Tile and carpet has installed carpet and new tile in our house on two separate occasions. Rosanne was very kind and helped us pick out exactly what we wanted in the showroom. The installer did a wonderful job and were very professional. We will use them again for all of our future flooring needs!"

"I will be using this company again. From the first time we entered the business, met with Michelle, and began the purchase process, it was smooth with true professionalism. John came to the house to measure and prepare the quote and was easy to work with. The installers are rock stars--they showed up on time for a two-day job and finished it in one day, we were stunned. The entire process, from quote to installation was less than three weeks."

"We purchased our carpet from a Big Box Store, which used The Carpet Company for their installation. Now, having heard bad stories regarding carpet installation from the Box Stores, we were nervous at first. The Carpet Company crew showed up on time and did a fabulous job installing our beautiful Mowhawk Smartstrand carpeting. They were clean, professional, and were very thorough on answering any questions we had and were very prompt in their communications to us regarding install times/dates. <br /> We were extremely happy with the result and love our new carpet! <br />"

"Fantastic! Artaville is a extremely professional and friendly company. Mr Faraji is very competent and caring about his work. Our rugs have not been this clean since we bought them. They look and feel almost brand new. His prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend Artaville Rugs and Upholstery, we will most definitely be repeat customers."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Fredericksburg, VA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
