"The person they sent out was from Mr Handyman, easy to work with, asked questions, checked on what he was doing, flexible, if we wanted him to do something else he would figure out how to do things that was kinda odd. He secured our screen door better also.   <br /> <br /> It was kinda expensive."

"It was pretty good. They came back and redid some work, it was pretty impressive. They came out to inspect the work and they actually redid stuff without me having to pay. I had to wait a few months for them. The workers were good. They need to use a more experienced contractor. I wouldn't automatically go to them but I would get quotes from them."

"Stephen was awesome to work with and his work is outstanding. We are SO happy with our new railings, they make the entire house look brand new. If you need work done in the Grand Haven/Holland area, don't hesitate to go with Northern Lights Construction. I've worked with a lot of contractors and Stephen is top notch. Highly recommend."

"It went great.  We couldn't be more happy.  They had great ideas and suggestions and the finished product looks great.  It was less than three weeks from start to finish.  There were lots of steps involved and lots of teams to coordinate.  We are very happy.  They were clean and courteous. No complaints.  We have referred them to three different friends and two of them have projects going with them.  "

"Hiring Melvin Belk Roofing to do my gutters was a great decision. The gutters look great and they were professional during the whole process, especially Andrew Belk. There was just something about him that made me comfortable. He came out and gave me an accurate quote when estimating the job. Andrew and his crew were knowledgeable, timely, and did a great job. I would recommend Melvin Belk Roofing to anyone in need of roofing, siding or gutters."

"Very happy with the entire process. Communication was great and Eric even brought Reggie to house the day before the job started to introduce him so I knew who to expect in the morning. Reggie and Cole were great. They took special care to respect my home and did incredible work. My wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the finished product."

"Needed a mix of odds and ends done before winter. Responded quickly to my call and provided estimate after discussion of work. Untimely arrival of winter made work more difficult but was completed in one day. Two days later we had a thaw and I noticed a problem. I called them and they had a crew out the same day and made it right. Everyone was professional and pleasant to work with."

"Terry Bandstra and his painters were highly recommended by a local professional paint store; his references were impeccable and his estimate, both as to price and schedule, were right on. Terry painted the exterior of our fairly large home , and put two coats on the great room, dining area, and kitchen for the interior. The work was excellent, the painters professional, responsive to our questions and suggestions, and punctual. We were very pleased with the price and the result, and would certainly recommend Painting Services of West Michigan to other members!"

", Build, owned by Matt Williams is superb. Tasteful, utilitarian, safe and necesary; Matt took care of all the problems and unattractive parts of our home. He is responsive, patient, pleasant (a wonderful smile), and smart. ALso, he is careful about the cost of items. He finds great pieces or equipment that are less costly than we anticipated. We wouldn't hesitate to have a working relationship with Matt and Build, LLC. <br />"

"Bruce Jennings designed, constructed, stained and installed custom built-in oak cabinets within our family room. The shelving is on both sides of the fireplace, involves angled sections, and one unit contains our TV. He also redesigned our mantel to match the shelves. Bruce came by a few times before building the shelves to discuss design. He worked with us to come up with a plan that we liked. One draw back may be he wasn't too forward with suggestions when we asked what he felt would look good in the space. Despite this, he was patient with us as we choose our various options. The wall behind the cabinets had two different depths, an outlet, a light switch, an air intake, and a thermostat. All challenges that Bruce was able to navigate around without difficulty. He had very valuable input, for example he pointed out that stained shelving would wear better than painted shelving, but never forced an idea on us. Once we put down a deposit his time frame for the project was very accurate. The cabinet doors that close in the TV unit have required some follow up work due to a manufacturer defect in the hinge hardware. Bruce has been prompt in returning our calls and in continuing to work with us to get the doors functioning properly. The final result looks excellent, works perfectly, and we've received many compliments. The most remarkable part, however, is that he gave a reasonable estimate for the project up front and managed to stay within that budget. Something I've found to be rare in sub-contractor type work. We have been very pleased with Bruce and his work and would recommend him to anyone considering a home improvement project. <br />"

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Hastings, MI

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
