"They were punctual and each crew took care in their job. There were 3 crews: roof, trim & gutters. Full roof replacement with underlayment replaced, 2 new skylights, new trim, fascia, soffit and gutters. Each crew cleaned up nicely and the roof crew used a magnetic tool to collect any stray nails on the ground. Total time 3 days. Prior to install they were great communicators, called to confirm every appointment. And best is if you call them with a question you get a person! Not just a person but a considerate person. Only had the roof a few days now, but today was the first heavy rainfall and guess what? No leaks! Highly recommend them for a roof replacement. They were more costly than others we interviewed, BUT they had better products, offered more for air flow and overall had the best presentation and left the best printed brochures. Again, highly recommend. If there are any future leaks I'll update this but today was a good test. I'm no longer fearful for any sorts to come."

"The team that executed the project was punctual and knowledgeable and they mostly stick to what the sales guy has promised. However, there was one last-minute change: they claimed it would take too long to remove the siding and apply the dense-pack insulation on second floor walls from the outside, making it impossible to finish the project in just one day. The alternative was to drill holes from the inside to apply the insulation, which I approved. They cover the holes when the finished, but it didn't look good (see the picture I attached). They run a blower door test before and the result was 4,175 cfm50. After the finishing, they did the test again and the result was 2,850 cfm50 (31.7% of improvement). They applied with Consumer's Energy and DTE for rebates and I could get back a significant amount of what I invested on this project."

"The job went well.  Once into the tuck pointing part of the job, it was obvious that a lot of mortar behind the outside brick had eroded away.  Michael did a great job making sure the job was done correctly.  As for the roof, the fixes he did, addressed the problem of leaking at the flashing.

"It all went very well. They were extremely knowledgeable, knew exactly what had to be done. This job was done in the fall of 2012. The following spring, there were some areas that did not grow. I called and they sent someone out right away to assess the problem. They sent a crew out right away to redo the areas that didn't grow. They did not charge any additional fees. They went above and beyond to make things right and to make sure I was completely satisfied. I would recommend them for any job that they are able to do, whether it be lawn care or remodeling, or windows. They are a very reputable business and I trust them. Their prices were far less than than the other 6 or so that I received quotes on.

"I purchased a deal on Angie's List for dryer vent cleaning. I had to call to make an appointment when I didn't hear from them. They apologized and explained they had been having electronic communication issues with the Angie's List site. From that point on everything was smooth. I scheduled an appointment and they called the day before the scheduled service to confirm. They actually called on the day of the service to see if it was alright for them to come early. When I explained that I wouldn't ready for them until the scheduled time, they were very polite and said it was no problem. They showed up a little early and waited outside until I was ready for them to come into the house. The technician was professional. The job was done well. Clean up could have been a little better but overall, I am satisfied with the job."

"I can't speak more highly of my experience with HCI and Alvin Ashley in particular. Being a military veteran I felt an immediate camaraderie with Alvin who himself is a veteran. As part of quoting the job he walked my wife and I through the entire process start to finish. He covered in detail what would happen at every step of the process including what materials would be used and why they were the right choice. Though he quotes jobs now, his experience as a roofer clearly showed as he easily fielded the dozen or so questions that I had. I live in a historic home in Farmington.
