"This man did a horrible job. Be careful do not hire him. Check, there are reviews. We have pictures, we're being putting on. He put our French door that goes to the back yard on backwards and upside down. He didn't finish spacling, and painting. He left cracks, didn't feel grout. There's so much to say and I don't know if it's what to say it's just too much so check out the pictures and you'll see what we 're talking about Be careful don't let what happened happen to us happened to you. Now we have to hire someone else to come in and finish up his work that he was supposed to get done that. He got paid for we trusted him. And we paid him in full. He said he would come back and do, but when my wife told him that the door the thing is upside down and backwards. That's when he skipped out on us If he's looking for a lawsuit, he's going to be. Look, he's going to be getting one. So would you be careful"

"I would highly recommend Anthony/ HRI Solutions. He is a professional and a true craftsman who cares about the quality of his work. He is honest, charges a fair rate and delivers on his promises. We had purchased a house that needed work in summer 2021 and needed to move in within 4 weeks. The backdrop was a nationwide lumber/supply/labor shortage & delivery delays so we worried we would not be able to find someone to get the job done.  We lucked out when we met Anthony. He gave us a fair price and had stellar reviews on Yelp/ Homeadvisor/ Angie's List, so we booked him hoping for the best, but not really expecting him to finish on time. In 4 weeks, Anthony's crew updated 2.5 baths, refinished wood floors, painted the whole interior of the house, installed barn doors, updated the fireplace, replaced staircase banisters, built a built-in bookcase and shelves--- and fixed many random things in the house (wonky door knobs/ bad lighting/ etc.) Despite the short turn around, the craftsmanship was on point.  They worked tirelessly, did not take short cuts and took the time to do the prep work necessary for a job that would last. We are very happy with the finished product and feel confident that we can be here for the next 15 years and not have to worry about anything breaking.  A bonus was that Anthony and his men made the effort to work discreetly(were respectful of neighbors, no loud music or smoking) and also neatly (the work site was always clean, safe and organized.) He is also very knowledgeable and gave me pointers on design and function (random things that someone moving from the city would not think of.)  Anthony was a pleasure to work with-- and we are already talking to him about future projects. We would recommend him 100%!"

"Eddie was great to work with! We had a limited time frame to adhere to town inspections and Eddie and his team knew exactly what we needed and quickly got the job done. The results were great and even the inspector acknowledged the impressive repair. They were able to put a knocked out garage wall back on the foundation and repair the interior dry wall. I would recommend this company for any professional contract work due to their reasonable price, ease to work with and quality of work."

"Incredibly kind and personable. Has exceptional skill in his craft we turned our front door from a 32 inch to 36 inch door and he executed this process with precision! And went above and beyond with the outcome. Would recommend to anybody looking for a skilled craftsman. Finished ahead of schedule which was very nice and what we were hoping for. "

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Garden City, NY

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
