"The experience was very good. The salespeople were very helpful and the service was very good. Installation was about $600. They were very professional and gave us the information we needed when we were shopping. The installers were very polite and worked very hard. It took the two installers 10 hours, but they worked the whole time. They did a good job. We compared the prices at other places and they were competitive."

"Trying to find a handyman in the Muncie, IN area is a real drag. I was desperate for someone originally to put to put a desk together for me. Thankfully, I found All Things Done. He put my desk together in no time and I asked him what other services he does and when I found out he did painting and plumbing I hired him for those jobs too. He installed a garbage disposal and painted. Troy Baine's company All Things Done is a delight to deal with. He assessed what I needed and gave me straightforward answers to all my questions. He is friendly, respectful and trustworthy. More importantly, the work he did was of top quality. Fast service. I recommend him highly for anyone in the Muncie area looking for someone who is reliable and competent and PROFESSIONAL. Yes, I am very happy. If you need a general contractor contact him."

"I needed carpet and vinyl flooring installed in a short period of time, which Empire Today was able to fulfill. I felt that I paid a premium for service on short notice, which I expected. The salesperson was a bit pushy and asked more than once, "do we have a deal?", which felt smarmy. On the day of installation, all went as planned until the vinyl installation was complete. The quarter round was not replaced. When I asked about it, the installer said that "it looks fine without it," which I disagreed with. He offered to put caulk down, which helped, but still did not look like a complete project. I did not like how he dismissed my request. I sent more than one email to Empire Today about this problem, but they did not follow up with me about this issue."

"Our purple carpet had about 100 urine stains from previous dogs and our own. The specialist, Robert, matched to color and treated every spot. If we didn't know where they were, we'd never know they spots had been there. Perfect job!"

"I have used Lawson Brothers before for my flooring.  We slowly added hard wood through out the house and had been very pleased with the service and the quality of the wood.  So, when it was time to replace the kitchen floor, I only called them.  The work was wonderful.  They installed the wood at an angle, which changes in each room (so it is not obvious when what was installed) and it fit wonderfully.  They were prompt and professional and I would use them again. <br> <br>My two previous experiences with Lawson were great.  While I was quite happy with the workers and the project manager, I found the salesperson offputting.  He was not the easy to work with or calm and that lead to some frustrating calls.  In the end, it worked out because I had faith in the workers. <br>"

"They did a great job on selling and installing the carpets for us.  It was absolutely a good price.  I was kind of in the carpet business and I knew the other competitors.  They were super competitive and their customer service is really hard to find these days.  They were on time, super friendly and professional.  I have also referred him to customers of mine and they all have been super happy too."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Gaston, IN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
