"1/6/26 review update In answer to Best Carpets response. Faye did check for any message from Best Carpet - there were no calls and no messages were left. To say they tried calling for three days is false. They never called either Faye or me. We have the ability to review missed calls and to check voicemails - there were none from Best Carpet. We understand that suppliers may experience delivery issues - that was not our complaint. The complaint was that we were never contacted - either by phone or by email, of the install cancelation. The email on file was mine and I can assure you that the last email contact from Best Carpet was on November 18th when they confirmed an install date of December 22nd. When I asked when they were notified of the backorder - they were unable to provide a date - but since they claim it was at least one week before the installation date they had plenty of time to call or email us - but never did. They still try to blame the supplier when our complaint is the failure to call us Wish there was a way to rate Best Carpet below -0-. They do not even deserve the one star. Following the flooding in August we were finally able to make a carpet selection for a second home on November 6th. Best Carpet came recommended by several people. On 11/7 Sean measured for the carpet and on 11/9 he sent us the quote. We immediately sent Best Carpet $2,500 to cover half the quote. On 11/17 Sean set an installation date of 12/22. We drove 3 hours on Sunday 12/21 so that we could be there for the 12/22 installation. That morning, when no one showed up, we made multiple calls to Best Carpet, but since they do not open until 11:00AM we did not hear back until late morning. They advised us that we were in fact scheduled for installation that day and they would contact the installer. Early that afternoon they called to tell us that the carpet was on backorder and there would be no installation. Does this deserve even one star ? absolutely not."

"On recommendation from our son, we chose J&J Contractors to put a new roof on our house and garage. We met with Dave Bartz our project manager, and we were impressed with his willingness to work and ensure that our project would be managed properly and exceed our expectations. We agreed on the scope of work, and were informed on how each step of the project would be completed. All of the workers were professional and courteous; and the clean up was excellent each day. We are extremely pleased with the finished roof, and highly recommend J&J, Dave Bartz and the entire work crew. Jerry and Janice Hempel"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Germantown, WI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
