"Supurb. Pete actually answers his phone which is really unusual these days. Called him in the morning, explained the backup into the house and he said he would be there in ~ three hours. Arrived when he said he would, calling me ten minutes before he arrived to say he was on the way. Cleared the line in under an hour, cleaned up and was on his way. Pete should be in the training business to show service providers how to be responsive, punctual and deliver competent service. First class guy all the way."

"Job was not as simple as I expected . Scum layer was very thick because maintenance had not been done for a long time. Also, the tank has two chimneys, one with the cover at surface level. I had told the office on the set-up call that no digging would be necessary. However, the serviceman found that at the easy-access chimney, very hard scum prevented the pumping of the liquid there. I had started digging down to the second chimney with the cover below surface level, but did not finish before. The serviceman finished digging down to the cover w/o charging extra. He finished the job very efficiently. Also used a discount that lowered the price below $200. And he came in a super clean red truck!"

"Let me start by saying that we're only dealing with the product and service of Stone as we purchased a house as they were doing a conversion for the seller. We had been waiting to close on a house that was converting from well/septic to city/sewer. Stone hadn't come in at this point. Work was not getting done, extra and quot;surpriseand quot; expenses, etc....so the sellers made the decision to go with Stone and fire the company that had been doing the conversion and was running on week 5 of the work. <br /> Stone came in and within a week everything was done and ready to go. I spoke with an older gentleman (Jim I believe) and a young guy who took the time to explain how everything worked and to re-iterate that if I needed anything that they would be there. <br /> Well, they had installed a grinder pump that had several problems. The alarm kept going off which meant that the waste was not being properly pumped out. Any time the alarm rang, we called Stone right up. They were always responsive and quick to come diagnose and resolve the issue. I would have given an A for everything, except that it did take about 4 attempts to get the pump to work and they seemed unsure of what the problem actually was. Each time there was an alarm it also meant that I had to stay home from work to be there for the guy. It was finally resolved though. <br /> Lastly, I wasn't too happy that the and quot;gray waterand quot; still went to our dry well. I cannot say for sure if this was something that just wasn't part of the order or not...if not then there is no issue on their part. But our dry well backed up shortly after moving in and required a plumber to resolve. <br /> Bottom line is this is an industry that you have to be careful with who you deal with and Stone seems like a company you can trust. <br />"

"I had a sewer backup that flooded a room in my home. I had roto rooter dude out to my house 3 previous times in the course of a year to unclog my lines. I tried to reach out to rooterman but he was too busy. I hopped on Angies List and looked up plumbing. Farrell bros is what i decided to go with but was hesitant due to the F ratings. Their plumber Mike, i think it was mike (Marine Veteran) was at my house in less than an hour. He snaked and cleaned out the line, but he found what rooterman had missed! He saw that the trap plugs were rotted out and replaced them. Then he used a camera to scope out the line and i found out i had a broken Trap and a belly! How did the Rooterman miss this three times?? Mike ordered me a part and replaced the broken stuff and was very kind. Both of us were Marines so we bonded a bit over that i think. Anyway, he offered to get me an estimate for digging up and replacing the sewer line and told me about the financing. I may or may not go with them for that big job, i haven't decided yet and am trying to find a cheaper solution such as getting a excavator in there and exposing the pipe then calling Farrell in to replace. One thing is for sure, i wont call the rooterman anymore! Mike from Farell is a great plumber. Ignore some of these other crazy sounding reviews, i can tell you first hand that these people are legitimate."

"He has done work for me twice so far and would call him again. He repaired an outdoor spicket and of course it was cenented into the brick wall but he was able to replace it. The second time he came to look at my garbage disposal and it was just clogged so it took no time at all and he was able to take care of a leaky faucet (that another plumber told me he couldn't fix because he couldn't get the piece off.) He also gave me recommendations on maintaining my disposal and getting a larger one when this one does wear out. <br />"

"We found that the trap in our sewer line had a hole in it causing an unsanitary condition with a very unpleasant odor. The trap was encased in cement under the basement floor and the scope of the work required a professional. I could not fathom how such work would be done and the time frame required for completion. I did realize that this needed immediate attention so I checked Angies List for local plumbers. I called Empire State Plumbing and within 15 minutes Tom Darling returned my phone call at 12:30pm. By 1:30 Pm he was at my door and inspected the area, explained how he would fix the problem, gave me a quote of $900. My wife was shocked by the price but I agreed immediately as I expected a quote well over $1000 and a time estimate of several days. Tom said that he could fix the problem today, but he would have to return to his shop to get the needed tools, including a jackhammer. He returned in about an hour and then began working. The guy works like a madman, but a very skilled madman. I was amazed at how quickly he cut out the floor. From start to finish the entire project took less than 5 hours. We spoke on several occasions as I checked on his progress but that did not stop him from working as we were talking. I was in awe that one person could do what he did in that amount of time. He earned every penny of the $900 with his experience level and work ethic. And he left the area cleaner than it was when he arrived. My brother and I had been diagnosing the problem, and trying to find a solution, and we made a mess before he became involved. I feel very lucky that I chose his business and will keep his business card handy for the future. <br />"
