Small jobs welcome

"I highly recommend Fabiano's Construction. Our experience with him was fantastic from beginning to end. The project was to restore and replace the exterior window frames of our 1830 Trinity. The previous owners had installed new windows on the inside but left the old ones outside for beauty. Many of these old windows were completely rotten at the bottom, barely holding the small panes of glass together. We got three estimates. One builder wanted to replace the old windows with a second set of new ones. Another was going to patch them up with wood filler. Fabiano was the only one who was willing to actually restore them, using green wood for the parts that were beyond salvaging. It was precision carpentry work requiring problem-solving ingenuity. The new frames and sills are green wood plus Azek (PVC), so they should last forever. Although more major restoration was necessary than foreseen, Fabiano and his crew—his son Will and assistant Simon—still finished the job in the predicted time. They were careful, focused, hard-working, and also really nice, honest people. It was a pleasure to meet them, and the result is a stunning improvement to our house both inside and out. Fabiano is responsive and friendly, an expert who takes pride in his work. Incredibly, his price was the lowest the three. We plan to hire him for another project."

"Andy has done several projects for us including crown molding and a vinyl front step railing with columns. He recently did a total bathroom remodel including a tile shower, tile floor and sink/cabinet. I cannot tell you how wonderful this contractor is. He is a gem. I had my parents move in with me and he rearranged his schedule to get this bathroom done before they moved in. I HIGHLY recommend Andy for your renovation needs. We have even more work scheduled for him when he is available. He is neat , clean and always on time. His pricing has always been much better than any competitor that I have gotten quotes for and his work is outstanding!"

"I reached Out to Mr. Alonzo on January 24th and he responded almost immediately that evening. He came out and inspected the project the following Friday morning and i had a quote that afternoon. Considering the work needed and the fact that it was a pick up of an already started project he was very detailed on the expectations and costs. His first crew was there the following Tuesday and i could immediately tell that Mr. Alonzos' people were very professional and knew exactly what they were doing. Within a week i was ready for paint in both rooms and i was extremely satisfied in the work his finisher Manuel was able to accomplish considering the deformations in the structure. Once he was done you could barely tell anything was amiss and once paint was applied the next day i was very pleased with all work. Next time i start a project Juan's company is first on my list"

"Very well. The salesman was very professional; not pushy and didn't sell his company by putting other companies down. The installer was on time, courteous, professional and completed the work neatly and quickly."

"Beautiful job! The kitchen counters have nevaska granite, and perla venata quartzite for the kitchen bar. Went in one Saturday, founds the ones we liked, took samples home to test for staining, etching, scratches - both passed with flying colors. Went back the next Saturday to pick our slabs, they came and measured, went back for placement on the stone and they installed the following Friday. They were in and out in a little over 2 hours. Very nice bunch of guys who did a beautiful job, didn't break or ruin anything - it was a pleasure to have a job run smooth and everything look better than when they came. We love the new stone, it looks like we have a bigger kitchen and the stone is so beautiful - we couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend KOL - they have an extensive selection, will answer ALL the questions you may have, and do a wonderful installation."

"The job went very well overall.  During the initial consultation Rick took the time to discuss our ideas and needs, asked questions, explained options, made recommendations, etc.  He drafted a detailed contract that covered everything we discussed during the consultation.  After the contract was signed, I first had to work with a seperate company to install the necessary egress to meet township safety code.  Rick started as soon as the egress was completed.  Rick was very responsive during the project and we were in constant communication, either in person when we were both at the house, or through email and telephone.  A very important note is that Rick did what he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it.  He laid out a project timeline and pretty much stuck to it.  The quality of the work was excellent.  At the end of the project, Rick made sure we were fully satisfied with the work before taking final payment.  We look forward to working with Osborne Builders again in the future."

FAQs for baseboard installation projects in Gibbstown, NJ

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
