"We hired Sage landscaping to create a new backyard that involved clearing trees, regrading, and installing a retaining wall. From start to finish, I couldn't have been more pleased with the work and the end result. Ed Sage provided some very good advice in the design phase that really helped the project immensely in the end. The whole team that worked on the project was impressive and demonstrated a strong work ethic, competence, and a desire to do things the right way. No supervision needed, which is rare. I could completely trust the team. There were no slackers on the team and no one cutting corners. The whole team brought a "can-do" attitude which was a pleasure to deal with when changes were required from original project scope. They strived throughout to ensure that I was happy with the work. While Sage wasn't the cheapest upfront, I believe they were the best value given the quality of work delivered. I will certainly be using Ed and his team going forward for all my landscaping needs."

"All of the work was done quickly, professionally, and met my high standards. The only problem arose when they installed my railings while I was out without having me select the style. I came home on the last day of work and everything was complete, even railings that I had not seen or approved. Initially, I didn't want to make them redo it. I thought I could live with it. I paid in full and they left. Ernesto called my husband to make sure we were happy. Everything seemed great, the work was well done, and everyone was professional. However, a few days later I realized I really hated the materials they chose for me. When my husband called back to see if they could change out the railings for us, they said it would cost about $500. I know I paid in full and approved the job, but after $8,000 worth of work, I thought it distasteful to be charged more money to change out materials that I never approved in the first place. I recommend their work, but be sure you approve every single material prior to installation.

"After meeting with a number of other contractors for our project, we decided to hire MD Construction. We hired MD Construction to replace the failing retaining wall in our driveway as well as installing steps to a paved pathway that leads to our yard. We met with Miguel (the owner of the MD Construction) and he is very knowledgeable with the process and materials involved. They gave us a great price and provided us with a copy of their insurance and NJ contractor’s license. When they started the work, we had very bad rainstorms the entire week, which made their job even harder. However, they were diligent and professional throughout the process and completed the project on time and within budget. The wall looks great and is an appealing improvement to the home. We will be using them again to replace our patio in our backyard."

His crew worked sun up to sun down to get everything done on time. Bond posted and permit with town all went smoothly. The coordination of cement truck and even helping lower water & sewage pipe in driveway was no issue. Anthony demonstrates absolute professionalism and is a real pleasure to work with. "Well, I scheduled well in advance fr 8:30 on the Tuesday morning. At 10:00 I called because nobody had called or shown up and I had to leave for work. I was asked if I still wanted someone to come out because it was cold and it had rained the day before. I said "yes" and I was told two guys would be there in about a half hour. 45 minutes later a truck pulled up in front of my house and two guys sat there until 11 when they got out and told me they had the wrong street number and were not sure which house to go to. Well, they were very nice and I told them exactly what I wanted done. When I had to leave for work, I told them the existing leaves on the grass did not have to be done if they ran out of time because I could pick ten up with my lawn mower. I came home after dark and the next day was very excited to look at my back yard leaf free. The perimeter of the yard where the beds were was mostly leaf free, but what they did was blow all the leaves from the back yard onto the grass, leaving  leaves as much as a foot deep in places which was way too much for my little lawnmower to handle. I tried calling Brett and left him a message telling him my concerns. Later in the afternoon my husband and I decided to tackle the daunting job of removing all the leaves. After about two hours, we got the grass totally free of leaves and made a huge pile of leaves in the back corner of the yard and in addition took out 10 bags of leaves to the curb. Brett did call me back and when he heard what happened was very apologetic and volunteered to come back out. I told him it would be very nice if they would like to haul off all the leaves we had gathered. He said he would be by Saturday. On Saturday they showed up just as I was leaving the house and I was very pleased....until I came home! They very kindly had decided to not only haul off the huge pile of leaves that I had created from the wrk I had done, but they decided they did not get all the leaves in the flower beds the previous time so they would get them this time. So, they blew all the remaining leaves onto the grass which at that point had not even one leaf on it, and left me a yard full of leaves to get rid of - again! So back to the yard I went to mow and rake the leaves up, and in some spots they were taller than the front of the lawnmower so I had the problem again of picking them up. So, are they nice? Absolutely. Were they willing to come back at no charge to fix up their mess? Absolutely. Did they fix the problem? Well, partially by removing all the gahered leaves in the back, but in the interim, they recreated the first problem. I feel bad not giving them rave reviews because Brett and the other two workers seemed genuinely nice. But three hours of leaf raking after paying $199 to have it done just does not make me want to give them rave reviews.
