"They did a great job from start to finish. We just moved into a home that needed a good amount of work and to finish the job, the stairs and upstairs bedrooms needed carpet. I had received a card from a friend who said Nei Brothers were very good. I called them and Dennis came over to measure the job and had 50 different samples with textures. We decided on a style that had a small design and they did a great job with install and clean up! Besides the carpet being installed, I didnt know they were there. Very price competitive, knowledgeable, and friendly. I would recommend them!"

"We highly recommend Carpet Outlet. Bill guided us to the right carpet for our needs – finished basement, family room and guest room – after we lost our carpet to water issues earlier this year. Bill was careful to guide us to the best carpet choice – not too cheap, but also, not too expensive. The carpet we chose is outstanding, could not be happier with it. Additionally, the installation crew was excellent – on time, professional, did not damage to walls, and put the carpet down tight. If you need carpet – strongly consider checking out the Carpet Outlet."

"The entire process was seamless! Clark was a great sales associate and helped us navigate what type of flooring we wanted for our kitchen, dining and powder room. He was knowledgeable and non-pressured. Dave & Dan did a great job on the hard surfaces. Omar & team were beyond exceptional with the carpet install! We’d definitely recommend The Carpet Guys!"

"Everything went very well from the assistance in choosing the right carpeting for the stairs to the installation of the carpeting.  We were kept up to date on when it would be installed and the crew who did the installation were very professional and courteous and when the job was completed everything was cleaned up very well. <br /> We would definitely do business with Carpet Central in the future. <br />"

"Lance is wonderful. He reached out right away after I submitted my project on Angie’s List. We set up a good time for him to inspect the job. Lance stretched 7 Year old carpet so it looks new again! The installer we used before said nothing could be done and walked away. Thanks again Lance!"

"I needed some stair-runners installed. The owner, Mike, came out and measured my stairs. Mike was detailed and very knowledgable and even drew a sketch of my stairs for me. The price quoted seemed fair. Unfortunately, due to the runner material (hand knotted), and pattern i selected, Windy City Carpets was unable to install the rug the way I wanted (expanding the rugs on the pie shaped curved pieces of the stair). But they were honest and prompt, I would hire them if i need future services for more standard rugs."

"This is an update to my initial review I posted in August 2018. Despite the initial bumps in the road, I can honestly say that the craftsmanship of Dan's guys is truly top notch. Martin and his brother handled the demo of our existing parquet floor and laid our new pre-finished hardwood floorboards and the finished product looks great. They also handled the installation of the new baseboards as well. There were a few boards that were damaged during install and not noticed until the work was completed but Martin expertly removed the boards in question and replaced them with new ones and you can't even tell the difference between the original install and the replaced pieces. Honestly, I still have concerns about their sometimes slow communications and returned phone calls but ultimately, the craftsmanship is what's most important to me and I would certainly recommend Dan and his crew to friends looking for new carpeting or flooring."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Glenview, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
