"I have been dealing with sewer smell, sewer back-up, and rats in my basement for many months without much progress after multiple contractors and plumbers. I began the screening process again and found Tim to listen and problem-solve better than any other professional. He expertise really came through at multiple stages of the project. During his camera scope he identified problems not previously picked up. During the repair phase he talked me through the process and was very thorough and organized in his work. During final phase, he came back to hydrojet and rod the entire sewer system out to the city line, provided additional repairs to broken waters lines and gaps in the concrete floor. In the end, Tim did a major repair digging out our front yard to access and repair the sewer line. The majority of the smell has dissipated and, for the first time, I have some peace of mind."

"Psp Plumbing, fully licensed, professional, knowledgeable, and competitive. It is clear from their work that this company is very professional and take pride in their work and service. I look forward to working with them again. I got two quotes to replace an old metal drum trap underneath the shower and Psp Plumbing was 55% lower than their competitor's price. Both companies said the job was 2-4 hours. Psp Plumbing was able to give a quote based on photos sent, gave a certificate of insurance, gave their company W-9, and offered flexible financing all before starting any work. The replacement was completed the right way and within 2 hours. They arrived on time, professionally dressed, had all the correct parts, and removed all trash before they left. They also noticed and took the time to bring to my attention other plumbing violations and explained clearly the hazard associated. Please consider contacting this company when looking for quotes and inspections"

"We have been utilizing Lifeline Plumbing for the past five years, most recently on 8/11/20. Technician Mike D called 30 minutes prior to arriving and courteously asked if we preferred for him to park his vehicle on the street or in the driveway. Once he arrived he performed a whole-house plumbing inspection and then gave us several choices at different price points to replace our defective garbage disposal. We selected the most expensive option with the best warranty and Mike D promptly and professionally installed it. Mike is very professional, highly skilled and possesses a great sense of humor as well. We intend to ask for Mike D whenever we again call Lifeline for our Plumbing needs."

"I've hired Code Plumbing in 2012 for water line repair in my attic. Ray was very quick, very efficient, and he didn't rip me off. I am very pleased with Code's work. And I had just used his service to have my sewer drain cleaned or rodded and have a shut off valve installed on my water line for outside of my house to keep people from stealing my water. Excellent!"

FAQs for sewer main install, replace or repair projects in Glenview, IL

When installing a sewer line, you should consider extra costs like tree removal, driveway repairs, or patio resurfacing. Hiring a professional plumber is essential, and you may need additional specialists if landscaping or heavy excavation is involved. Addressing these potential extras up front helps ensure accurate budgeting and prevents sudden cost overruns.

To calculate the length of sewer piping you need, measure the distance from your house to the main sewer line, adding the depth of the city main to this distance. Be sure to account for any obstacles like tree roots or utility lines that may require additional piping.

City sewer lines are installed at a lower elevation to prevent unwanted backflow and water damage. This lower positioning ensures enhanced performance and long-term safety, meeting all technical and safety standards.

With trenchless methods, a plumber inserts a smaller pipe within the existing plumbing, avoiding full excavation. It can be more cost-effective and less disruptive than traditional methods, but it's not suitable for all homes.

Yes, you must secure permission from your local water authority before connecting to a public sewer line. This approval ensures your connection meets all regulatory requirements.

Sewer lines are buried between 18 inches and 8 feet deep, with most systems placed between 18 and 30 inches. In colder regions, pipes are set deeper to remain below the frost line.
