"I was initially looking for carpet replacement for a move-out (about to put the house on the market). I thought they needed to be replaced since there were so many animal stains and buckling. Antoine came out to give an estimate and said he was confident they could clean it, and it would be a lot less. I went with that option and the difference was night and day -- they cleaned and stretched the carpets to remove the buckling, and they look new again! I'd definitely recommend this company."

"Kevin Alley and his assistant Devon did an excellent job from start to finish. Kevin came to our home with his wife to review the project and gave us a very competitive estimate based on other estimates we had gotten. He was able to start work 2 weeks after his gave us the estimate. During the initial part of the project, which involved removing carpet and vinyl flooring, he discovered the subfloor had been damaged in several areas where water had leaked. This caused the particle board subfloor to deteriorate and cause mold in some areas. We agreed that the entire subfloor needed to be replaced with 1/2 inch plywood. We negotiated a fair labor price for this additional, unanticipated work and they did an excellent job removing the old material and installing a solid subfloor. My wife has noticed that her allergies have suddenly improved since the moldy subfloor was gone. The work started on Tuesday, August 5, 2014. By Friday night most of the subfloor had been replaced. Kevin had the forethought to put the washer and dryer in the laundry room back in service for the weekend so my wife could catch up on laundry for our family of 6. Work resumed on Monday, August 11. By Tuesday he was installing the ceramic tile. My wife had originally wanted a staggered pattern (Kevin called it a brick pattern) but he suggested to her a grid pattern with several areas filled in with a diagonal pattern would look better. The dining room and kitchen used this diagonal pattern within a large rectangle within the grid pattern. It looks stunning. The complex geometry and cutting of the pieces to do this fill in pattern was a work of art on Kevin's part and he charged us no extra to do this beautiful pattern. Throughout the job Kevin encouraged us to ask questions and he provided excellent answers. He and his partner were professional, courteous, and sensitive throught the whole project, especially since my wife had to set up a make-shift kitchen in our den. The work included removing and replacing the baseboards, installing new shoe molding, removing and replacing a toilet, and moving and relocating two refrigerators. He was able to leave the stove in the kitchen and washer and dryer in the laundry room and simply worked around them, moving them as necessary. By Friday night, August 15th the work was done. Kevin and I settled up on the price. I paid for all the materials at cost and Kevin provided a fixed price on his labor. The installation of the subfloor took Kevin longer than expected and I offered to pay him several hundred dollars more above his fixed price which he graciously accepted but did not insist on getting. I woke up Saturday morning, August 16th and commented to my wife, and quot; What a beautiful floor we have now!and quot; I selected Profloorz to be our contractor after reading through the reviews on Angie's List at the recommendation of my son. I was not disappointed. I went to the Profloorz Web Site and saw the beautiful tile work Kevin had done for other customers. I would recommend Profloorz and Kevin Alley to anyone wishing to install a ceramic tile floor. I have told Kevin to feel free to use me as a reference for potential customers. I am a very satisfied customer! Ed Seufert <br />"

"This is the second and third time I have used HFM for all of my flooring and lighting needs.  I really love the look of their hand-scraped engineered wood flooring and everyone who sees the finished floor wants it for their home.  I bought sufficient porcelain tile for 2 separate homes and so far have installed all the tile in one home.  I was a little concerned at first that the tile would be darker than I preferred, but again, once I finished the floor, it came out beautiful and really makes a great impression on visitors.  Michael Spray has done a great job estimating and coordinating the carpet purchase and I am awaiting the final install of the carpet at my houses.  Amanda Clements is simply AMAZING with her choices of lighting.  Her lighting choice on my first house made the whole place look spectacular and I am excited to see the finished results once the lighting is installed at my latest 2 houses.  Jessica Daly has been very supportive and patient with me on the installation of new blinds.  I cannot say enough good things about Suzanne Lilly and her whole team at HFM.  They really take the time to understand my needs, they have a wide variety of stock items to suit almost any taste, and can special order other specialty items as needed.  I generally prefer to install my own materials, but it is nice to have the ability to hand the installation over to them and know that they will have everything installed in a professional and timely manner. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Gracewood, GA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
