"The whole experience was awesome from start to finish. Sam came out to measure himself and then took care of the rest after we picked out the new carpet and stain color. The installation of the carpet was done over 2 days one week and the hardwood was taken care of the following week. The workers were on time, polite, hardworking and they did such a beautiful job. our home is transformed....... I do want to mention that after the hardwood was done, we noticed a small area that was missed (our living room can lack adequate lighting on cloudy days). We called the next day and they responded immediately and it was taken care of. That is great service. We highly recommend Best Carpet and would gladly use them again if the need arises."

"Carpet work was fine. Flooring installation was terrible. Failed to level the concrete subfloor, so bubbles in flooring. Didn’t Match trim. Promised to follow up on trim issue (indicated it would darken after some months). Never called. Worst of all was installation crew. Trimmed pieces in my home. Sawdust everywhere. Ruined newly painted walls. Filled my ventilation system. They would not clean up their mess or the damage they caused. I had to find a cleaning service, and have vents cleaned. This delayed my move, requiring more time off than planned. Responsiveness was non-existent. Terrible. My flooring is now gapping 2.5 years later. I may have to replace. Ridiculous."

6 employees. Cost is determined by the job. No travel charges. Owner, Rob Adair, does all estimates free of charge. We accept cash, check and charge. We require 1/2 down on contract sign up with the balance due on completion. Our installers do not take charge cards on the job site. If paying by charge you will have to stop into our showroom. We do not install products not purchased from our showroom. This makes less problems for us and for you, our potential customer as we know the products and their installation guide lines. Thank you

"The company failed to order enough product for the job and refused to get more product expedited to complete the job timely. The salesperson and owner do not hold themselves accountable. They are consistently inconsistent!"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Grafton, WI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
