"They just did a small job for us, but they did it well.  The guy came in, and he went to my son's house which is down the street.  He measured all my son's room, and got the carpet fit my son's room.  He also carpeted my son's whole house with the carpet that we did not want.  He did a great job!  We have tried calling a couple of people, and no one was responsive.  People did not call us back, but he just came out and did it. "

"Cannot sing enough praise about this local company & especially Troy!!!! He took the time to review services we needed as we have rented the house for a yr & also had 3 dogs at the time. He spent roughly 4.5 hrs cleaning & deodorizing & moved bedspreads & curtains away from the area treated. He loves to sink ***** tonk songs as he’s making sure every corner of the house got touched that had carpet. He was professional , courteous , loves the company he works for & takes pride in his workmanship. Cost wise you can’t beat the charge for their services & they actually use a gadget to measure sq ft. Will definitively call upon them again when we move again"

"My builder asked that I go to another flooring store, and I asked to go to Abbey, Great decision! Not only did they have a huge selection, they also had competitive prices and great installers. The tile turned out beautiful, the laminate looks great, and the carpet is soft and easy to clean! I cannot find the seams in the carpet either! They are extremely easy to work with, very responsive and let me customize everything just the way we wanted. I would highly recommend that you go see them! <br />"

"this is a local company and everyone I interacted with was very pleasant and professional; the only problem is the carpets smelled terrible when the technician left and weren't as clean as they were when I had another company do the same job 9 months previously and there weren't stains that were any different (I had some pet stains from a sick animal)."

"The installer was very professional and adept at installing the blinds.  He completed all 7 windows in about 1 1/2 hours.  He brought his own large trash bag and put all of the trash into it. He had measured the windows several weeks before and had them cut to size at the store.  They all fit perfectly.  Lowes followed up by phone the next day to make sure everything was working all right and informed me that there is a 1 year warranty on the installation.  The entire process of ordering and installing the blinds was amazingly easy. The price was great and as a veteran I received a 10% discount which is greatly appreciated."

"As previous reviewers have pointed out, Mario is up for most any job.  This was my primary reason for selecting him when I needed a variety of work done last month.  I was re-arranging my garage by disposing of some permanently installed cabinets, buying a steel shelf to replace them, moving other shelves and appliances around, and installing bike hangers.  I also needed all this junk plus a large sofa hauled to the local dump.  Mario met me at a local store to pick up the new shelves.  He took care of it all and also repaired the drywall in my bathroom skylight (which he noticed while he was working here).  I had him come out again later to clean all my windows and he did an excellent job (and worked around my schedule when I got off from work).  He re-routed a downspout for me to make it flow around a pad I had put in for our garbage cans and did a great job on that as well.  He definitely is the man to call when you have lots of jobs that need a variety of skills or just someone with a good work attitude. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Grand Junction, CO

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
