"They were very courteous and friendly from start to finish. They sent their estimate (we had 3 different ones) in a timely manner and answered all of our questions. The driveway was just dirt and stone so they came in and grated and leveled it to prepare for the paving on one day. All of their workers were very helpful and friendly. Then they came back several days later and paved it. We didn't think about the walkway in between until they had already planned the work but they did not have a problem with adding that for a very reasonable price. They concluded by telling us how to take care of it and if we had any problems or questions to be sure and call them. Several of our neighbors have used their services and their driveways look great too!"

"One screw type pier installed. 2 workers hand dug hole below bottom of foundation. Cleaned out under foundation for platform. Although foundation was deeper than I thought, the hole was done much better and quicker than I envisioned. Pier was screwed at bottom of hole with a hydraulic motor. Once limit on hydraulic pressure was reached, the pier was cut at proper level, platform installed, and cracked section of foundation was raised with a hydraulic jack. Crack in stonework closed up nicely without going too far and creating additional cracks. Workers had 5 and 15 years experience doing this work. Very professional and did a very nice job every step of the way. Note that I (homeowner) chose to move and reinstall landscaping stones and gutter drain. Also, tuckpointing/repairing the cracks was not included in the quote. I plan to do that myself at a later date."

They have a front end loader and a truck so they use whatever they need. Sometimes they don't get right here when it snows, though they always get here eventually."

"Our experience was mostly positive. The crew that completed the work included the owners and they did excellent work. We are satisfied with the final product. The one downside was the lack of response to phone calls and the poor job of scheduling. We understand that this is outdoor work and is subject to the weather, but if the work is scheduled for a particular day, weeks in advance, the company should call or email with an updated schedule.  That is common courtesy, but is surprisingly lacking in nearly every contractor we have ever hired.  Because it is so common for contractors to lack professionalism in the area of basic communication, we give H&F a pass on this failure.  We would hire H&F again because they did excellent work, which ultimately is the most important thing. <br />"
