"I woke up to find my basement flooded with at least two inches of water. The plumber I use for smaller jobs does not do main drains but he referred me to CSC (Commercial Sewer Cleaning). I called then just after 8 a.m. They sent someone to my house the same morning. He used a huge heavy snake to clean the drain. It went perfectly. Eventually all the water drained into the drain in my basement floor. The plumber was efficient, friendly, and very professional."

"I was recommended this company from a fellow person in my community. I text the number on a Saturday and received no reply, EVER. I ended up calling them a few days later (Thursday). I specifically told them I wanted someone to come out and give me a quote because we didn’t know what we were dealing with. They never said there was a service fee to send someone out. They told me they could do Tuesday and it would take 20-30 mins. The owner told the technician that we wanted an install and they came in and spent 2:45 here. No one gave me a quote they just said they were going to Lowe’s. I told them let me know if there was anything as I had to go back into a meeting (I work remotely.) They installed 1 line with a T to splice the line to the fridge form the RO system. They charged me $150 each for what says two lines! They did remove the old one and add a cap to it, but that just comes with installing a new one. You have to remove it to install the new line. It took TWO people nearly three hours to remove a single line and cap it off, and to install a line with a T. They did not have to drill anything as the holes were already in the floor! They broke a glass on accident, no worries. They picked up a part at Lowe’s that was missing items and had to go back for more parts. They then cut 45 mins off the 2:45 time. They did not clean up all of the glass they broke. They did not clean up all the water on the floor downstairs or in the cabinet. They did however soak up the water in the cabinet with a swiffer heavy dust pad. They did not ask for a towel or use the 2 rolls of paper towels to clean up the mess. They later told us that the charge details on the invoice don’t matter and to ignore them after we questioned them. $150/line somehow translated to $150/hr. If you do give a quote, and charge for it, try removing that total from the bill total if you win the job, as that is common practice. Just a suggestion. Most of this I can look over, but not listening when I specifically wanted a quote and then Charging nearly $400 is outrageous. Money is tight for most of the working class and even more so after buying a new home and a whole home water system. This should have been a simple quote that could have turned into an install. But they did not properly communicate to their employees and then it took much longer than it should have with two people. I am very pro small business and I am VERY disappointed!"

"Smith came to our house to diagnose a problem that involved replacing old cast iron sewage pipes inside the house throughout the basement floor to the foundation where the new pipes would connect to the outside sewer line. It took L D Smith several attempts to inspect and diagnose the problem. Once they did diagnose the problem and explained the situation to us, we agreed to move forward with their recomendation to replace water and sewage pipes in the house to the foundation and connect the new pipe at this point to the outside line. Directly after the pipes were replaced, a faint odor of sewage began to build up in the basement. The odor slowly and steadily increased over several weeks and after about 3 to 4 months it became unbearable. At that point, we asked them to return to the house to see what was causing this problem. When they came to the house, they: 1. claimed there was no odor (despite my husband, myself, and a professional plumber stating there was a strong sewage odor originating near the connection of the interior and exterior pipes). 2. claimed that they stood by the work they did replacing and connecting the pipes and that the sewage odor we thought we smelled could not possibly be caused by a fault with their recommendations or their work. 3. would not look at the pipes they replaced or assess the problem unless we paid an inspection fee. If, and only if, we paid for a new inspection and they found that they were at fault, would they honor the warranty on their work. 4. suggested we seek out a second opinion to determine what the source of the sewage odor problem is and only if the second opinion determined L D Smith was at fault, would L D Smith honor the warranty on their work. After an extremely difficult interaction with this company about this problem, we decided to seek the help of another company. The new company assessed and diagnosed the problem right away and determined that L D Smith's diagnosis and recomendation for repairs was flawed or incorrect, that L D Smith installed the interior basement pipes incorrectly, that sewage was backing up in the pipes L D Smith installed, and that L D Smith connected the interior pipe to an exterior pipe that was broken and leaking sewage and water into the soil along the basement wall. The back up of sewage in the interior pipes and the leak in the exterior pipe was causing the intense sewage odor inside the house as well as on the outside of the house. We are grateful that we did seek out a second opinion to diagnose and correct the massive mistakes L D Smith made in our situation. After our experience with L D Smith, we are not able to trust them to be professional or fix the mistakes they made and face even greater costs to have our sewage drainage problems corrected. We regret calling on LD Smith and will not call on them again. Our advice to anyone who has a significant problem like ours is to call another company for help."
