We fill all holes with wood filler, set nails if needed, and sand every room 2 to 3 times to get all scratches and stains out, I'm new to Angie's List but not to floor sanding. This is all I do, so don't hire a general contractor that does a little of everything. I have the best equipment for the job, not the small machines you can rent. When you call me, I do all the work myself, some companies have young inexperienced guys that don't know what they are doing also getting hourly rate so they don't care as much. "I had a new hardwood floor installed and wished to match the color to a much older hardwood floor. It was not easy, but JD figured it out! It's beautiful. He and his brother went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with the color. They patiently displayed many sample colors for me until I could settle on one. I was concerned that the dust would trigger my husband's allergies, but not only did he minimize the dust and cover all the furniture, but his sweet mom cleaned everything perfectly afterward for a very modest charge. I wasn't always clear on when they would arrive each day, but JD was very flexible and always answered phone calls promptly. What a lovely family business! If I decide to refinish other hardwoods in my house, I will definitely choose JD."
