"Wayne and his partner were fast, quiet and efficient. They did the work while we were away during the day. It came out perfect - despite what surely was an amateur installation on the drywall and corner bead. A good mudder can cover a multitude of sins."

"House was originally painted in 2006. Advertising from company says paint lasts a lifetime, but unfortunately it doesn't....Nothing lasts a lifetime and warranty is only good for owners at the time of service. With our initial telephone call I was told that the person I needed to schedule with was out of the country for 2 weeks and they would have him call me upon his return. After almost 3 weeks, he didn't call so I had to call the office back. The process of getting him out to look at the areas that needed to be touched up took several more weeks, each time with me calling the office. This was also very frustrating since the only person that could help me worked part-time, so it was hit or miss to reach her when I called, and it was hit or miss for her to return my telephone calls. After several weeks I was finally told the painter would be out on a certain day to do the work. He and I walked around the house so I could show him the areas. It was kind of a wasted effort as he missed spots I pointed out. During the initial painting in 2006, the garage windows (2) were not painted at all. He took care of those, as well as having to repaint 3 kitchen windows....All the windows that were done were painted shut AGAIN!

"When they manufactured my first cover they got it wrong, but when I called them about it, they quickly reacted and got me the right one. They were nice about it, no hassles or anything. The work they did turned out excellent. I'd say they do good work; they make a mistake, they fix it. "

"We've used them for the past 20 years. The shingles that they installed they have the superintendent on site was certified in those particular shingles, certified by the manufacturer. And their follow up and warranty was good responsive too"

"In Fall 2015 Brad from Beams Roofing inspected my mother’s house for storm damage. Brad was very respectful and knowledgeable and worked great with my insurance company. He felt the insurance company’s quote was too low and submitted revised measurements to obtain an additional $600. The weather became too cold to replace the roof so we agreed to wait until Spring. In Spring I called to schedule the installation but Brad was no longer with the company so I met with owner Wes Beams. Mr. Beams went over insurance paperwork and wrote up a new contract (some items slightly higher cost than in the Fall). I was a little concerned when several line items were left out of the new contract, but as I pointed them out, Mr. Beams wrote them back in. I was also surprised when he said I would have to pay for all the material upfront (because I’ve always heard not to do that – even from my insurance company). Due to the high rating on Angie’s List, I went ahead and agreed and provided $4200 up front. The work was expected to take less than day, and since my mother has Alzheimer’s and we would need to make special arrangements, it was agreed the work would be done on a Sunday (they do not typically work on Saturdays). It was also agreed that if the roof took longer than a day we would get notice (because we would need to make arrangements for mom). On installation day we returned home at 5:00 pm and the workers had left, but the roof was not done. We had not heard from Beams, but Monday morning the workers began hammering at 7:00 am. This was a hard day for my mother, since we were not given ample notice to make arrangements (they were supposed to schedule a time for a 2nd day – we didn’t know they were coming Monday morning). There were legitimate reasons the roof didn’t get done in 1 day (damp ground, replacing some rotten wood), but I wish the communication had been better. Upon completion of roof, Mr. Beams called me the next morning to tell me he had talked with my insurance company and that I was to go ahead and pay him for the remaining cost, and when my cancelled check came back to give him a copy and he would file it with the insurance company. That set off a few warning bells for me. I said okay, but hung up and called my insurance company. They had no record of speaking with him (they said they log all calls), and that this would never be the proper procedure. They agreed to let me conference in Mr. Beam while they explained how the insurance filing worked (fax in completion details and they would issue a check in a day or two). I met with Mr. Beams that same evening so I could go ahead and pay him our deductible share, along with some money for the boards they replaced. I had the checks ready for him based on our contract, but Mr. Beams spent 20 minutes re-adding things up again and again, eventually agreeing that the checks I provided were exactly what the contract said. He had a terrible attitude that evening. He said I should pay the last $1800 the insurance owed because the contract was between me and him – not the insurance company. I had already given him almost $6000 (most of it up-front), so I’m not sure why he was so upset over waiting an extra couple of days for the last $1800. I told him it was my understanding that most roofing companies worked with insurance companies since not every homeowner would have the money to pay for roof installations up front and then get reimbursed. He said he doesn’t usually work with insurance companies, and then proceeded to spend 20 minutes bashing the roof on my own house (which I had told him I had installed a couple of years ago). He then complained that he lost money on our roof, did me a favor by working on a weekend, that he was going to go back to my insurance company and ask for more money because the measurements were wrong (his company measured). In my opinion he was acting childish and trying to deflect from the fact he caught called out for saying the insurance company said for me to pay for the roof and get reimbursed. Used car salesman is the impression I was left with. The roof itself looks good as far as I can tell. They cleaned up after themselves, so no complaints in that area.
