"We have never done business with a company that went so far above and beyond our expectations like Counter Effects did. First Jared took us to Raleigh to pick out the granite slabs to be used for our counters, then Chuck sat down with us to make sure the slabs were laid out correctly. This was a very expensive granite with complex graining and movement and my wife wanted the granite fabricated to best show off the complex design nature provided in this stone. Once the measurements were completed, Chuck went to the fabricator (120 miles away) to make sure the countertops were laid out as my wife requested. Chuck corrected some of the patterns to make sure we would be satisfied and the green light was given to fabricate the counters. All of this took place on November 15th. My wife was cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the entire family in her new kitchen and we tasked Chuck with pulling off the miracle of having the counters installed before November 28th.  <br /> Counter Effects pulled a rabbit out of their hat and our new counters were installed on November 26th. The installation went smoothly, the counters fit perfectly and the grain was just as we requested. "My wife and I wanted new hard woods in our house but had very specific requirements that we could not typically find locally.  My wife wanted a dark floor while I wanted extreme durability in a natural hard wood.  We did our homework and decided that Brazilian Walnut (Ipe) most closely matched what we wanted.  <br /> After looking locally for something that fit the bill, the flooring we found was either over $12 sq/ft (too expensive) or not dark enough.  I started searching on-line and ran across Brazilian Direct.  Their prices seemed reasonable (a bit over $6 sq/ft for what we wanted) and they even had a tinted (dark) version of the floor we liked. <br /> After several weeks of questions and further research, we decided to place an order.  We we worked with a representative named Sannon who helped us every step of the way.  She sent us samples, instructions, guides - everything to make us more comfortable about our eventual order.  Our order came right on schedule and the wood was really beautiful.  After several weeks of the required acclimation we had a local installer put the floor down.  They did an excellent job and we really love our floor.  There was very little waste and in fact we had at least 3 boxes left over. <br /> I highly recommend Brazilian Direct.  We are considering using them again for a deck project we'd like to do in the future. <br />"

"We had a weird experience here on 7/23/2019. Received a very frosty reception from staff member. He hovered over us but didn't speak. Felt like he was worried we'd steal a sample. Didn't ask anything about our project, even though I was carrying a schematic of measurements in my hand. We weren't sure if he was just having a bad day or didn't like us. Impossible to say, but we discussed it on the way home and it didn't feel like bad customer service, it felt like he didn't want gay customers (or maybe a Black customer?). Would advise to give this place a hard pass if you are "different." Selection of quartz and brands looked quite good. Granite selection in stock was quite limited. Postscript: Owner wrote us a note apologizing and saying everyone is welcome."

"I have used several Granite Gold products and like their effectiveness because they do what they are supposed to do. No strong fumes or irritating skin problems. The granite counter top daily cleaner and polish are so easy to use (spay it on and wipe with a paper towel) to keep all your stone products clean and shiny. I was surprised to see how effective the grout cleaner is. I sprayed it on some dirty tire floors in the bathroom and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Then I went over it with the scrub brush they provide. It looked clean then, but when it dried, it was much brighter. This is a 40 Year old bathroom tile floor pictured. Granite Gold also provides excellent professional support."
