"He did an awesome job. His prices were very reasonable and provided me with a coupon. I will definitely use him again in the future. They extracted all the water so you are able to walk on the carpets immediately following the cleaning. They are a very trustworthy business."

"The techs did a great job cleaning our carpet. I had never had my carpet professionally cleaned and was extremely pleased with the great results. For this I would have given an A++++. However, that evening while pulling weeds I noticed the same carpet cleaning chemical smell outside - at the time I thought it was coming from open doors. The next morning I went outside and a large strip of grass -next to the driveway where they parked their truck -was burned. I hosed it off and large amounts of sudsing occurred- along with the strong smell of carpet cleaner. I contacted the owner via email along with a video of the sudsing he called back right away which I greatly appreciated. What bothered me was the solution - he asked if I had grass seed ( shouldn't the company repair damage?). He also said he would call back the next day after he spoke with his crew - I never heard from him again. Too bad because I would have used their services and recommended them. Customer service means a great deal to me and it should mean a great deal to a company who wants repeat business ."

"Installer arrived a day late to start and informed us the various areas would need to be leveled causing extra expense and time. Reason for leveling was due to some areas of old linoleum said to be asbestos which could not be removed except at great expense. We do not understand why person sent to measure did not inform us or the office of this situation. <br /> This resulted in the project lasting almost a week for which we thought would be 2-3 days. <br /> Installer never arrived earlier than 9-10 AM. He also did not respect other areas of the home by placing tools and other supplies on carpeting. He did not make it easy to move around the home in order to access the other bathroom. He also was disrespectful in calling the lady of the house "momma". <br /> Overall a very disappointing experience with the exception being a good appearing floor. <br />"

"It was all so easy.... initially, I scheduled 2-cleanings, 1-for the house I was moving from and 1-for the house I had just purchased. The guys were terrific; friendly and helpful. They looked at our floors and made suggestions regarding treatment. 1. The rental that we move from had had many preexisting spots when we moved in which we tried to hide with furniture and rugs. According to our landlord, it had been cleaned by another cleaning company. We were astonished to find that Mark of was able to remove almost everything; despite the fact that the spots were old (wish we had had them 're-cleaned' when we moved in!). Needless to say, our landlord was thrilled with the results as well. 2. Prior tmoving into our new home, we debated whether or not to replace the bedroom carpets. We finally decided to have them cleaned instead - by the time we arrived at the house the following day to begin moving, the carpets were dry and fresh and looked like new! What a nice start!!! 3. We had Bob back again today (6-month's later) to freshen things up; hoping extend the life of this carpet as long as possible. Everything looks and smells great! <br /> We highly recommend Steamway Craftsmen; they are true professionals , experts at their craft... I wouldn't consider using any other cleaners. <br />"

"Integrity was very professional. We are in the process of moving 2.5 hours away and house is on the market. With two kids, a good cleaning was necessary. (Our carpet probably needs replaced.) I setup the appointment by phone, I received reminders, and was notified when the cleaning was done. I wanted to make sure that I was satisfied with the service prior to payment and the staff at Integrity was completely okay with that. They strive for 100% satisfaction. I am very pleased with how our carpets look afterwards. <br />"

"This was a great experience from start to finish.  Loved getting to see the samples ( good sized...not the tiny squares you get at big box stores) in my home. And it could have been overwhelming but Jill asks good questions and really thinks about what will work best for your situation and that helps to narrow options.   Installation was painless too. Jill uses very professional installers.  We had a lot of stairs to be done and were worried  as original carpet on stairs had some issues....not anymore!  We purposely chose chose a higher end carpet and we LOVE it. It's been in for almost 4 months and it still smells and feels brand new.  We learned a lot in the process too.....regarding pads and installation technique.  Jill really knows her stuff.   We will definitely be calling her again when its time to do some additional rooms! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Grimes, IA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
