"He was very nice and professional. We had a mystery stain on the carpet from our contractor. The stain did not come out the 1st time and so he came back free of charge and got most of it out the 2nd time. <br />"

"Mike arrived on time and did a good job.  We have had him clean and stretch carpeting at several of our properties in the past and can trust that he will do a very professional job.  We have had two incidences where trim or a wall was damaged in tight closet spaces, but, overall he did a better job stretching carpet than the original installers. <br />"

"Installer arrived a day late to start and informed us the various areas would need to be leveled causing extra expense and time. Reason for leveling was due to some areas of old linoleum said to be asbestos which could not be removed except at great expense. We do not understand why person sent to measure did not inform us or the office of this situation. <br /> This resulted in the project lasting almost a week for which we thought would be 2-3 days. <br /> Installer never arrived earlier than 9-10 AM. He also did not respect other areas of the home by placing tools and other supplies on carpeting. He did not make it easy to move around the home in order to access the other bathroom. He also was disrespectful in calling the lady of the house "momma". <br /> Overall a very disappointing experience with the exception being a good appearing floor. <br />"

"It was all so easy.... initially, I scheduled 2-cleanings, 1-for the house I was moving from and 1-for the house I had just purchased. The guys were terrific; friendly and helpful. They looked at our floors and made suggestions regarding treatment. 1. The rental that we move from had had many preexisting spots when we moved in which we tried to hide with furniture and rugs. According to our landlord, it had been cleaned by another cleaning company. We were astonished to find that Mark of was able to remove almost everything; despite the fact that the spots were old (wish we had had them 're-cleaned' when we moved in!). Needless to say, our landlord was thrilled with the results as well. 2. Prior tmoving into our new home, we debated whether or not to replace the bedroom carpets. We finally decided to have them cleaned instead - by the time we arrived at the house the following day to begin moving, the carpets were dry and fresh and looked like new! What a nice start!!! 3. We had Bob back again today (6-month's later) to freshen things up; hoping extend the life of this carpet as long as possible. Everything looks and smells great! <br /> We highly recommend Steamway Craftsmen; they are true professionals , experts at their craft... I wouldn't consider using any other cleaners. <br />"

"It went pretty well. The 2 employees were friendly, and worked efficiently. The only problem was an old stain surfaced that hadn't been previously visible. (It had something to do with the type of chemical used by the previous owners to clean.) I called and the workers came back and worked on the spot. Unfortunately, it returned after the carpet dried. I emailed and 1 worker came back to try again. The spot is much lighter, but not gone. I'm sick of dealing with it at this point, and since we'll eventually replace the carpet with hardwood, I haven't had them come back to try again. (Which they offered to do.) The rest of the carpeting looks very good."

"Integrity was very professional. We are in the process of moving 2.5 hours away and house is on the market. With two kids, a good cleaning was necessary. (Our carpet probably needs replaced.) I setup the appointment by phone, I received reminders, and was notified when the cleaning was done. I wanted to make sure that I was satisfied with the service prior to payment and the staff at Integrity was completely okay with that. They strive for 100% satisfaction. I am very pleased with how our carpets look afterwards. <br />"

"Steve was very quick to respond to our request for a quote, came over right away & gave us just what we needed to get our home ready to put on the market without trying to sell us more than was necessary. The carpet was just the right quality & price to enhance our home to help get it sold. He also went out of his way to make sure he could get us on his schedule as soon as possible & had it installed the first day we had available for him to do so! That's service! He also kept in contact with us every step of the way & investigated options to repair a laminate issue from a previous installation by another company. His installers were fast, professional & friendly and worked hard to make sure that everything was done to our satisfaction. It was such a relief to have the laminate issue repaired & looking great again! We would definitely recommend Steve to anyone needing carpet, hardwood or laminate flooring! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Grimes, IA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
