"Mark responded quickly to the Village at Hidden Ravines condo associations request for an estimate to clean, repair and seal our chimneys. He was willing to work with the condo association and accommodate our schedule. His crew showed up on time and did a great job, they were courteous to the residents. The chimneys looked great when they finished and they were very careful to clean up the area."

"Kicking Ash was right on time. A team of two quickly set up tarps to catch any dirt, dismantled the gas fireplace logs and cleaned them, inspected the gas valves and tested the flow of the gas. They also did an external inspection of the chimneys because I saw some discoloration on one of them. Looks like the original cap of the chimney is rusting and should be replaced. I have already hired them to fix the cap the spring when the weather is better."

"By the time I called SOS, it was full on fireplace season, so my appointment was scheduled within 2 weeks. The technicians were very courteous (they even greeted and petted my dog when they went outside to inspect my chimney) and were incredibly detailed. They took extra care to make sure they did not get any dirt on my carpet and gave me instuctions as to how to care for my fireplace; I am a first time homeowner so this was extremely helpful. My fireplace does not have a door or screen on it, so they explained the importance of that, gave me some places to go where I could get a door at a reasonable price, and even measured the gap for me to let me know what size I needed to get. After inspection, they showed me their report and recommended that I get a power wash and a sealant due to some mortor issues on my fireplace. The quote was for about $450 and urged me to get this service done before it got too cold and they couldn't use the power washer. The next thing I know, I recieve a phone call informing me that SOS would be out to power wash and seal my fireplace the next week. Being this close to Christmas, and the fact that I just bought a house, I could not invest that kind of money into my fireplace and called SOS to inform them. They were very understanding and informed me that the next opportunity to do this would be spring, I said I would call them in the spring, but I felt a little more comfortable getting a second opinion on the chimney, as there were a lot of things on my "Spring Repair" list that I considered more urgent than my chimney. I would definitely use them again for chimney service and repair, but was a touch uneasy with the way the additional repairs portion was handled. I will err on the side that it was a miscommunication, because I have not recieved any follow ups or presurring phone calls to have the power wash completed."

"During the cleaning and repainting of the wood insert black paint was painted where it should not be and gold paint was painted on stove front where it should not be. Minor but not professional none the less. <br /> Chimney sweep stated that chimneys clay flue tiles had cracks and needed a new flue liner. I got a quote from him. Later spoke with the owner and the chimney sweep receiving a slightly better deal on a new flue liner install. <br /> For the flue liner install the Installers arrived a little late due to traffic. Spent all day trying to install and having issues. They worked from the roof and I was/am concerned that there may be damage from the time and effort they put in to the install while on the roof. Finally they knocked out bricks on the exterior so they could get the flue insert around the smoke shelf and told me the flue was now in correctly.  <br /> When replacing the bricks, which were knocked out, there was too much masonry and not enough brick making the visual effect non aesthetic. I spoke with owner and he had the same individual come back and redo the job a week later. I was still not impressed but I accepted the work which was completed as I did not want any more damage to the masonry. They did put a nice cap on the chimney top. <br /> I recently tried to use the wood burner and believe there to be an issue with the install. Twice I  have started a fire within the stove and twice I have had a room full of smoke before the fire and smoke begin to exit the flue. (Yes, I opened the flue vent cover.)  I believe the flue is crimped and when warmer weather arrives will have them back to take a look at their work and be sure that I am getting the proper draft from the flue. Smoke before heat is indicative of an issue with the new flue insert installation. <br />"

"Excellent service. They arrived as promised and finished the work in a short timeframe. The leaf guard product they used is excellent. We have pine trees, maples and cedar trees which shed a variety of needles, leaves, buds, etc. Through summer, fall and now into the winter snow and ice, the gutter guards have performed excellently. We also requested the roof gables vents be replaced as they were original to the house built in 1967, needed updated and we suspected water was entering into the garage wall. Ken took extra effort to find vent covers that matched up to the house very well. They also inspected the entire roof and replaced a flashing that was worn out. It turned out that worn flashing was the cause of a mysterious leak that used to appear on the basement floor from time to time, which has since ceased."

"They came out and inspected the property to determine what repairs needed to be made. Estimate was fair and they were able to schedule the work for the following week. They were very friendly and professional. Repairs look great and were even able to perfectly match the exterior color on the replaced trim! Would highly recommend for exterior repairs!"

"I originally contacted Muth & Company because of a slowly draining downspout. The worker pulled out two golf balls and a bird's nest. A few months later, I hired Muth to replace the roof of our 18-year-old house since the roof was estimated to be 80% through its service life and had sustained hail damage the previous year. They also vented the upstairs bathrooms, added baffles in the attic, and installed leaf guard to problem areas of our gutters that were accumulating leaves and bird nests. Elaina was helpful in discussing the various options and clearly explained the work to be done. We selected Timberline HD shingles in charcoal, and our roof looks really sharp. The quality of the materials is apparent, too. I also have peace of mind from the transferable warranty. I liked working with Muth & Co. and would hire them again."
