"I am very happy with the product and the installation. The installers were very knowledgeable and friendly. However, I was extremely upset with the way I was treated by Tom. From the first time I was in the store looking at samples, he treated me like I was an inconvenience. When I chose my sample, I was told he would come and measure the next day and installation would be in about 4 weeks since we already had our carpets removed and the floor was prepped/ready for install. The following day during measurements, he changed the timeline to 6 weeks. 6 weeks passed and I never heard from anyone at Butler Floor & Carpet. At 7-8 weeks, I called to check on the status of carpet installation and was treated very rudely by Tom. He continued to push off my installation date. I called an additional time and spoke with another salesman when Tom was off. This salesman couldn't seemed puzzled why my carpet hadn't been installed yet. The following day I received a call from Tom where he simply told me "we will install on 1/26". End of conversation. No apology or explanation for delay. Our carpet got installed 13 weeks after ordering. We also had an issue with a floor transition not being ordered and included for our installers. Tom argued that we were responsible for this and should have had it installed prior to carpet; however, I know that he said that they would include this product when he came out to measure. During the course of interactions we had during the measurement and ordering process, Tom always spoke to me in a demeaning tone. I would NEVER recommend any of my women friends to deal with Tom; therefore, not to deal with Butler Floor & Carpet either."

"Save yourself time, frustration And money. Really honestly. I wish I never came across this company. signed our contract in april 28 2021. My “top of the line” 5 season sunroom… still not finished . Always waiting on parts, crew to come out etc. there is always an excuse with these business owners. Buyers, neighbors, friends … beware doing business which such company. Horrible communication doesn’t even do it Justice. We have had a wreck in our backyard since July 2021! It’s now March 2022 ? Check out these photos of how the aluminum conducts the cold air through as well as the windows causing it to freeze, yes frost on inside. Now in the day when worms up, there is literal puddles on our flooring, that we are wiping down daily to absorb all the moisture. This is with us having two dehumidifiers non stop on. I mean we live in Ohio, they claim you can use this all year round. What a joke ."

"We ended up going to another place first, We were going to go with them, ONLY because I didn't know about Marrett....I called my mom who told me to go check this company out. We went and were met by Marian. She was SO patient and educated on what would work for us. She showed us the flooring we ended up going with, BUT, I was being stubborn from Pinteresting too much...Enter my mom, she came with me the second time and pointed out the same flooring Marian showed us....and started the motherly "You won't regret this flooring" And Marian gave me the information on the flooring and I started to fall in love more and more. She let me take it home to see it on our flooring and we love it SO much, once our remodel is done, we will be doing our bedrooms in the same flooring. Yes, it IS a bit more expensive, BUT, I have bought from Lowes and Home Depot my whole life and I've always had issues and ended up spending the same amount with repairs and ripping flooring out to redo it. The extra few bucks on this company (it also depends on your choice, we went higher end) is WORTH IT!!! We are going to be doing our kitchen and we are going there for our counter tops and we are also getting carpet from them in our living room, THAT is how satisfied my husband and I are with this company. DO NOT waste time at Home Depot, Lowes, Menards, etc .Go to a reputable company, Marrett won't disappoint you."

"We contracted empire today to install carpet and laminate flooring for the entire first floor of our home. The salesperson was great. Very informative and did not pressure us at all. The carpet installation was performed 3 days later and that went well. The laminate flooring install was performed 2 days after that. We were told it would be a 2 day install and i took the days off work to accoomodate the install. They finished in one day instead of 2. After they left, we found out why. They didnt do a final walkthrough or inspection. The flooring in the doorway separating the kitchen and dining room has a huge bubble to where there is noticable give every time you step on it. They also left our entire kitchen without baseboard so the wall looks awful. They claimed the carpet installers didnt apply padding all the way to the transition by our front door and that they would need to come back with the padding to close the gap. The next day, a carpet installer came out with the padding, but couldnt complete the job because the laminate flooring was unevenly cut and since it was a clean line across, he could not install the piece to finish the flooring. So we had to call yet again to have someone come back out. We spoke with tommy dooley (the installation manager) who assured us it would get fixed. So they sent another guy out who showed up, and told us the entire floor would need to be redone because of the bubbling, but they were not allotted a full day to do it, and thats how long it would take. So they left without doing anything. So we had to call yet again, and after having to call over and over to finally get mr dooley to call us back, they scheduled us for today. It is now 3pm, nobody has called us or showed up. They supposedly allotted a full day appointment slot to fix this, and thats obviously not going to happen today. We have now taken a total of 6 days off of work and nothing is resolved. The product itself is nice, but the install and customer service have been nothing short of atrocious. I am not normally someone who writes complaints, but this has gone on for too long without resolution to not voice my opinion."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Grove City, PA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
