"I hired John with JRW Plumbing to re-pipe my house and install a tankless water heater. John was very knowledgeable, professional, and patient in answering all of my questions. His prices are honest and extremely reasonable. He and his crew showed up on-time each day and cleaned up at the end of each day and were very communicative throughout the entire process and gave me timely progress updates. John takes pride in his work and made sure I was happy with the work each step of the way. When he was patching the walls at the end of the job he even patched a hole left by a different contractor. I had a great experience and highly recommend JRW Plumbing for all of your plumbing needs!!"

"The old water heater was removed from the basement and a new one installed in a few hours. This was done smoothly. The city inspector wanted a couple of pipes to be clamped down for additional security. This was done in a timely manner."

"The company owner visited the site and discussed the problems with the drains and issues associated with various solutions. He described the options for solutions and highlighted the benefits and drawbacks of the various alternatives. This contractor's website provides an excellent informational video on a range of topics of interest to homeowners planning to contract for plumbing or drain services. The workers arrived on time and spent 8+ hours trenching and installing new drains for the kitchen and laundry. The work was to replace 60+ year old drains located under the concrete slab of a masonry house. A little giant pump was installed near the washing machine and the drain was routed through the attic, down the exterior wall and then connected to the new kitchen drain that was rerouted outside the slab. A small portion of masonry block wall was removed to permit the connection to the new drain in the kitchen wall. The workers were pleasant, efficient, took the time to do quality work, but worked quickly and finished the job in one day. The pricing was accurate and affordable. The office was easy to reach for scheduling and contract questions."

"They were very professional. The first guy cleared the backup clog that was caused by an improperly installed clean out that collapsed partially. Darren came out and ran the camera finding the collapsed clean out. It was within a foot of the County clean out and everyone thought it was the Counties. The County came out and said theirs was fine. Darren came back out and identified the additional clean out as something someone (county workers) had installed illegally when the regular clean out was installed. Long story but two houses connected to the main with no clean out. In 2003 the County separated the lines and added clean outs. Obviously the crew conned someone into adding the illegal one off the books but cannot be proved.  <br /> Trenchless repaired the faulty clean out ie took it out and added one where it should be. <br /> 9112 <br />"

"<p>It was excellent. I have already referred them to a neighbor who is having a huge garage done. I  looked at, I'll bet, six companies. I have a redwood expansion joint and they were the only ones who could take  that out. They have a special epoxy they used in the hole to fill the expansion joint. Then they came out and finished the permanent epoxy. Their pricing is good and their responsiveness was fantastic. The lead installer has put in about 500 of these and he had an assistant with him that was training. These people were above board and call you back. They are polite and are ladies and gentlemen. They have a good product. His truck was immaculate. Everything was neat and he had a place for everything. </p>"

"Kitchen drain was clogged. Used the list to locate Rapid Rooter. Telephone receptionist was very polite and scheduled the appointment immediately. Technician arrived within time frame, and performed the work rapidly. All in all, a good experience, however the price for the drain cleaning liquid was high."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Guinda, CA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
