"Samuel was an excellent person to work with. His crew were on time, they did an outstanding job. They cleaned up everything. Samuel was there with his crew the majority of the time making sure everything we spoke about was done! His price to replace, the roof, all the boards around and under the roof and paint was lower than other estimates I got to just replace my roof. I am over the moon how beautiful my house looks and the job they done! Hire this crew and Samuel for any job you need done. You will be so glad you did! Thank Samuel"

"I was very pleased with the work they did replacing an old Jacuzzi tub with a large beautiful handicapped ready shower. They were quick and here when they said. More than being quick, they did an excellent job. Their communication through all phases was excellent. They also have great followup. I will use them again! I had a lot going on when the work was done, but I appreciate them working with me through a that difficult time. Thank you!"

"Academy was very easy to work with. The remodel turned out great, we needed an accessibility shower for my husband, and the shower they created is beautiful and safe. Getting in and out of the shower is much safer. I would totally recommend Academy Construction to anyone needing a bathroom remodel. They will do it right."

"They placed cloths throughout the house each day they worked to protect our floors. They removed and replaced everything in our bathroom with expertise. This includes our bathroom floor, vanity/sink, removing tub and installing a complete show with glass doors. They also painted and installed a light/fan combo above our shower. We love everything!"

"Provided free and accurate estimate. Reasonable and fair price compared to two other estimates I received.  Removed all my existing carpeting, padding, and tack strips and linoleum flooring, accompanying me first to local building supply store of my choice to select and pick up tile, backer board, mortar thinset, grout, as well as a new toilet I had already  purchased (saving me $79 delivery fee).  He is sole business owner and manager and a very experienced professional  tile installer, does  all work himself, and takes his time to prepare floor and  do top quality work,  rather than using inexperienced helpers,  and  rushing to get the  done in order to get to the next job.  He has previously installed ceramic tile flooring for me in a rental unit more than 3 years ago, and I had retained his business card all that time, having been very pleased with the results then.  He had been referred to me by my condo association manager at that time as several other owners had used his services in the past.  I plan to use his services again in the near future for installing ceramic floor tile in my master bathroom. Highly recommend him if you are looking for high quality work."

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Gulf Breeze, FL

You should regrout tile every 10 to 15 years, provided it is well-maintained with regular cleaning and sealing. Over time, grout can deteriorate due to exposure to moisture, foot traffic, and the use of cleaning agents. If you start to see cracks, discoloration, crumbling grout, or loose tiles, it’s a sign that regrouting is needed sooner.

The most effective way to clean grout involves a combination of powerful cleaning agents and the right tools. Using a dedicated grout brush intensifies the cleaning process, ensuring a deep clean. Create a powerful homemade solution by mixing baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap to break down deeply embedded dirt. After cleaning, reseal the grout to lock in protection and maintain its appearance.

You can't regrout tile without removing the existing grout and expect good, long-lasting results. You must replace the old grout when it begins to crumble and fail. New grout cannot properly adhere to existing grout, meaning moisture will still reach the damaged layer and cause additional water damage, which will be more costly to deal with in the long run.

Visible indicators, such as cracks, stains, chipping, and mold growth, signal that your grout is compromised and no longer maintains its bonding strength. If you notice these issues, cleaning alone won't restore the grout's integrity. In such cases, consider complete or partial regrouting to preserve your surfaces and prevent further damage.
