"The service kept going downhill every year. Pleased the first year, then they gave me the run-a-round the second year about billing and it took numerous phone calls to get straightened out. At the end of the third year I spoke to the local manager about my concerns in the treatment and lack of expertise with the techs that were coming to my house. They kept missing weeds in the lawn and rock areas and gave me inconsistent advice about what was best for my lawn which was a clear sign that they didn’t know what they were doing. The manager promised me that the next year would be different and he’d only have his best technicians come to the house. My third and final year started off horribly with more billing issues that took many phone calls to get sorted out. Sales people would show up to my front door asking if I wanted to subscribe to TruGreen service so their customer tracking and awareness is completely lacking. Technicians were horrible and continued to miss weeds. One gave me bad info about mites in my grass that he wanted to sell me a treatment for. I declined and the next technician that came told me I didn’t have mites so be aware that this company will also try to sell u things that u don’t need. They also overseeded my lawn with a different type of seed than my original lawn so it made my lawn look terrible due to different types of grass. Tried calling the manager several times and could never get him to return my calls. Cancelled my service and keep getting phone calls asking me to start my services with them again. I’ve complained several times and every time they call they say they don’t see anything in the system about my issues. This company pays a lot of money on their fancy trucks and uniforms, but buyer beware, this company doesn’t care about your lawn, only their bottom line."

"I received a phone call from a TruGreen technician within seconds of hitting the send button to Angies List. I had to keep asking the technician to repeat what he said since he did not speak into the phone or clearly. I kept asked for pricing on lawn aeration, I did not have a chance to give him the size of my lawn; he kept pushing for other services, after asking a few times for pricing on aeration only; he then quoted me $398! I don't what kind of fees you charge but this is gouging, when I pushed back he then said $203, so all of sudden it's half the price. I kept attempting to give the lawn footage but he kept interrupting and talking over me, given I have a large lot and I do not need my full lot aerated. I asked if he would be willing come and view the area - he was rude in his response and said that "this is not how we do business" Well, this is not how I do business either, why would I hire your company for any services after being spoken to so rudely. I used TruGreen last year, at first I was very pleased, but as the season continued I had to call and frequently request lawn fertilizing. I was told you did not have time, and then promised service would occur the following week, which also did not happen and no one would come, or I was given less than 12 hours notice, waiting the next morning for the technician and still no one showed up, also another time the technician began fertilizing my neighbors yard, lucky for them. I am just glad I did not sign up for any contracts and canceled all future lawn applications at the end of summer 2019."

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Gunnison, CO

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
