In addition, he took on a garage remodel, power, washing, landscaping, repairing of my brick front steps, and installations of new screens. "They came out to determine the cause & fix for my watery finished basement & for an estimate for repair. I had three plumbing group and four foundation groups who told me it was a foundation issue & repair would cost quite a bit. Armored Basement Waterproofing inspected my basement & cut into my drywall under the sink. He found a broken connecting joint where one pipe entered another pipe for drainage. The pipe was not enough connected due to the break. When our well neutralizer automatically back-washed q 5-7 days, the volume and pressure broke the pipe & was flooding the basement. I was a little doubtful that this would cause the flooding, but that night my experienced the backwash; he said it lasted for 30 minutes, with the water dislodging the pipe & dumping about 40 gallons of water. He tried to hold the pipe inside the connecting drain but water still poured out. Although Armored Basement was here for about 30 minutes inspecting, we were not charged any fee. He saved us an expense foundation repair job ($ 8,000-10,000) that would not have helped in this case. The plumbing repair job was only $400 . Really appreciate their evaluation and honesty. If we have a foundation issue in the future, we call them first! And recommend them to friends."

"Hire this contractor! Brian and his crew are more professional, polite, responsible and reliable than any other contractor I have ever hired. And I have hired several handyman and construction services. I will admit that the estimate gave me pause. But after the work was finished, i was relieved that what I got was a bargain. Galaxy was recommended by the Carefree Kitchens on East St. in Frederick. Brian contacted me, we went over the job, he sent me an estimate and we agreed on a start date. He and his crew arrived on time and ready to work. As my partner and I did the demo, Galaxy was doing the install of cabinets, some electrical, plumbing and moving a gas line. They disrupted our lives minimally. There was several small hiccups in the install due to the original construction, but Brian and his team made suggestions for work arounds and they were smart and acceptable. And they were well executed. Galaxy seems to pride itself on quality. Brian told me upfront every day what the plan was for the day. They actually finished their preliminary work ahead of schedule. Brian coordinated the scheduling of the electrician, plumber, inspectors, and the delivery of the cabinets in a logical and orderly manner. At no time did I say to myself, "whats next?" or "is this going to be done on time?" One week after the kitchen was done, we decided on a change of drawer fronts. I called Brian, and asked if he cold do this, and he said sure. The price was fair and the job was completed quickly and correctly. A big factor in any job is if a contractor has to called back to fix or correct something. I have had to do this on more than one occasion with other contractors. I have not called Brian, because there is nothing wrong with his work. His craftsmanship is impeccable. (A contractor who did a bath for me hooked up the hot and cold backwards it a sink. I'm still waiting, two years later for them to return to correct.) I cannot recommend Galaxy enough. Brian is as good as his word and worth the price. But be prepared to plan accordingly. The more jobs he does, the more popular he will become and thus, the longer the lead time will be. I foresee this contractor having a long and successful career. Do not hesitate and do not wait. (and now the obligatory) They're out of this world! Quality, value and professionalism are all you're going to get from Galaxy."

"Steve Sauder, the owner of Sauder Tile, arrived punctually and after assessing the job, gave us an estimate on the spot; he returned calls immediately and was punctual on arrival each day. The work space was always cleaned up each day, allowing us access to the kitchen. Each phase of the installation was explained to us, getting our go-ahead as needed on minute details that were taken care of to our satisfaction. Sauder Tile exceeded our expectations of the tile installation experience. Steve Sauder is beyond an installer, he is an artist. The work was flawless; impeccable craftsmanship describes his work. "I found Gene Lakin on Angie's List and he replied to my inquiry about a price quote on the same day. When he came to our home to do the estimate, it turned out that my father in law was Gene's football coach in elementary and middle school! Upon doing the assessment of the damage, we determined that we had a and quot;double ceilingand quot; in our bedroom -- meaning that the original construction had a plaster ceiling which had drywall hung over it. Gene expressed concern about repairing the drywall without having the area tested for mold since there was probably standing water in between the two ceilings. He advocated for mold remediation with our insurance company and they agreed. He truly went to bat for us! He attended the initial inspection with the mold company as well, removed a small piece of the drywalled ceiling and, in fact, there was mold. Gene visited two days after the mold issue was addressed and gave a final estimate. We scheduled him to begin working the next day. He and a helper did the bulk of the work on Wednesday and finished the job on Thursday and Friday. The ceiling is seamless, the drywall was done without a flaw, the other room he worked on is in great shape as well. I would highly recommend him. <br /> <br /> In addition, Gene goes above and beyond his craft. He offered to bring back lunch from a local eatery when he went to eat, always answered my calls and emails promptly, and was very friendly. He was a pleasure to work with, and we paid for his expertise with no reservations."
