"It went extremely well. I called Jason, owner of the company, to schedule the appointment. He was able to schedule my condo in less than a week. Michael was the man that was assigned to us. He called exactly at 8:00 a.m. to tell me he would be 15 minutes late. He arrived exactly 15 minutes later. Michael was totally professional, friendly and efficient. He went through my list repairing each item. He even went above and beyond what was on my list by repairing things I had not included. I asked him to use caulk to fill a hold on the rear of my bathroom counter. He noticed that the caulk on both sides of the counter needed extra caulk so he went ahead and completed the work. When fixing the window Michael noticed that the window shade did not go up properly. He removed the shade and fixed it so it would work properly."

"We wanted someone to remove the old kitchen countertops including the island top, install new counter, island top and matching back splash for the counters, install an under the counter sink with new faucet and new garbage disposal, that we had already purchased from a local hardware store and had in the garage. Dennis Grosthaus with General Construction Service was very good. He called us back with in 2 hours of  leaving him a voice mail about giving us an estimate.  Dennis came to the house to look at the project and gave us the bid.  We booked the job, while he was there giving the estimate, for the following week.  5 business days only, which we loved.  Dennis did the work himself with help from his staff.  He was very professional and personable.  His estimate was very competitive when we compared  it with others (also Angie's list calls).  The work was completed in exactly the time frame he said it would be.  While he was there we had another small project ...cabinet repair in the basement bar area... and he said no problem and took care of it while he was there on the original project.

We would highly recommend Dennis and General Construction Services and look forward to using him again.  And "believe you me" for me to be pleased with a contractor is a rare thing.  From having the house built 20 years ago, basement finishing, the pool install, concrete patio surfacing and a few others along the way; we have only had rare instances (one time really) where we were happy at the end and felt it was a great experience.

"I am writing as the board president of Providence Gardens Condominiums in St. Louis. We entered into a contract with Chesterfield Fence and Deck (CF&D) in 2018 to remove and replace 38 decks and to update two others. We are very pleased with CF&D's work quality, professionalism and communication. The decks are strong, look terrific and will virtually eliminate the maintenance our prior wood decks required. "Mr. Hoover did a great job.  He was out of town when I initially e-mailed him, but he replied to my e-mail and let me know when he would be back in town.  He contacted me when he returned and set up an appointment for the next week to give an estimate.  He was punctual and professional.  We scheduled the repairs to be done the following Monday (patching) and Tuesday (texture and paint, after previous day's work had dried).  I like that he gives an hour window for his arrival time rather than expecting us to be home all day or even all morning.  He worked with my schedule since I pick up and drop off at two different schools.  Again he was very professional and did a fantastic job!  As a side note, he is also very patient and understanding.  I failed to tell my four year old not to touch in time.  Fortunately, Mr. Hoover had not left yet and was very kind about coming back in to retouch the spot.  When I had our son apologize, Mr. Hoover told him it was alright and he probably would have done the same thing at that age.  From a mom's perspective, that was priceless.

"Purchased their service thru one of Angie's "Big Deals" back in August.  Have four bushes in the front yard that I wanted trimmed down to half their size.  Received a call in September that they were coming out the next day, even though this did not work for me.  Set up a different day and they showed up on time.  However, I was informed that because of the amount of trimming I wanted done, they advised waiting until the winter when the bushes would be dormant to do all the trimming (like December).  Didn't quite understand why because I've had these bushes trimmed while blooming in the past, and nothing has gone wrong.  So, I agreed to wait.  I also asked them about trimming some trees and the one guy took pictures and sent them to someone back in the office to get a price and was toldl I would hear from them.  To this day, I have never heard from the office as to the cost of trimming these trees.  We were now in January and still no sign of the bushes being trimmed or hearing from this company so I contacted them to ask when the work would be done.  Never heard back.  Called again the next day and was informed the workers were going to my house that day to do the work.  Again, never informed me they were coming out and I was at work.  When I got home that night, the bushes were trimmed back and the yard cleaned up.  I'm pleased with the work they do (we'll see how the bushes are in the Spring), but would not use this company again due to the lack of communication between the company and client.  P.S.  Still have never heard about a cost for trimming the trees.

"Very pleased. I got Larry's bid on the first of November. I told him I wanted to have the job done before Thanksgiving and he accommodated my schedule. Showed up on time and was easy to work with. This was a big job, including both interior and exterior work. He completed the job on time and at a great price. Would definitely recommend LS Custom Painting/Carpentry/Lawncare.
