Benchmark was at least $100 less than the 4 other quotes for the same door with windows, t-handle/lock, and installation/disposal.  I received a call back from John W. within 30 minutes of my initial voice mail at 4:30 on Good Friday which was totally unexpected. The following Tuesday morning I called him to say we wanted to go ahead. He came out around 4:30 that day for measurements and to sign the paperwork. I wanted a Saturday appointment since my husband would be home  to remove some canoes and kayaks we stored in the garage so the installer could access the garage door tracks. John was able to schedule us for that coming Saturday morning. He would have been able to come within a couple days if that would have worked for us. On Saturday morning the installer showed up promptly. My husband had a slow start that morning and had not moved much out of the garage by the time the installer arrived. The installer was able to work around everything (which my husband's choice, not something Benchmark recommended just in case a tool got dropped on our kayak). The job was done within a couple hours, the old door and parts were hauled away, and it looks and functions great.
John is very nice, professional, and did not pressure me into buying something I didn't want or need.  Overall the transaction went very smoothly from start to finish. I would highly recommend Benchmark for a garage door installation.

I shopped around for replacement windows for several weeks - researching various Windows (Marvin/Pella/Anderson/etc..) and had 4 different companies come out and give me a quote. I was not happy with any of them so I joined Angie's list - to fins a local Construction company that specialized in windows. That brought me to Slamans. He called me back - setup a time to come out to my house for an estimate. Tim the owner came out and showed me and explained the Sunrise windows. I had never heard of them - so after he left I did my online research. Reviews are quite impressive - and they seemed like an excellent window. I felt comfortable with Tim - and the Sunrise windows - so I pulled the trigger...

The Sunrise windows have a few compelling components that attracted me. They are a vinyl window - with wood grain color options. They are also a 2 piece window setup from the factory - meaning the window/frame comes as 1 part (installed from the outside) - and the other piece is a pre-fabbed and stained trim piece (installed on the inside). Its a brilliant system - and I had never heard of such a window.. These windows are now installed in my house - and absolutely beautiful. I wish I could upload pics in the review.



The day they came out to install the windows it was extremely windy - which is perfect weather for a window test after installation. After the windows were all in and sealed I noticed right away how much quieter the house was with the heavy wind outside. And I could not detect any air leakage at all. As I stated - the windows are absolutely stunning - much better than I had anticipated.

Slamans Construction: I am an extremely picky person - and demand excellence. Tim's crew is top notch - very professional and got the windows done in 1 day (a mix of double hung - casement - awning). They were right on time - and made certain to cover the floors and countertop. They have a great system for installing windows - 1 crew on the inside and 1 on the outside. It goes like an assembly line - a well oiled machine. And the beauty is they are not tracking in and out of the house. Believe me - I am hard to impress - and I would recommend Slamans to anyone. And I plan to use them again next year for a new deck.

"I can not say enough positive things about Home Force Builders. I hired Mike and his crew to remodel our kitchen. The entire process from bid to completion took five weeks, and looked exactly as I hoped it would, if not better. I will say it was sometimes difficult to get ahold of Mike through the first bid stages; however, as the project stared communication was great. Mike does a great job of producing estimates and invoices. Every task is itemized and given a description and estimate. Regular invoices are produced to track progress and work completed. The bid came in at cost with no surprises. John and Junior is the crew that worked on our project. They are professional, very hard working, meticulous, attentive, and respectful. They take great pride in their work and it shows. I especially liked that they kept us up to speed on development on a daily basis. We are very pleased with the turn out of our kitchen and mudroom. "As all the other reviews mention, Andry can be difficult to understand due to the language barrier and accent. When I called to schedule an inspection for a quote, he just said he would be in town on Sunday & would call me when he would arrive. Instead of calling to say he would be there in an approximate time, he called when he was outside the house, which was unfortunate because I had just run to the store and had to turn around immediately. When he came back out to sign the actual contract/invoice, he did call to give me an approximate arrival time so I could plan to be home. The original quote was written on the back of a business card. If it wasn't for the other reviews, I would have dismissed him outright.
I had a corner of the foundation that was seriously cracked and chipping away. It was mostly a stucco exterior, but the underlying concrete was damaged too. He came on Sunday to sign the contract and came back on Monday to do the work. I came home from work that day to find him cleaning up after restoring the entire side of my foundation. It was beautifully done and looks like solid work. The only downside is that it doesn't match the other 3 sides because they have a "roughed up" white stucco look. He told me that I could easily paint the concrete to match, which I may or may not do. I like Andry's work much better than the original look of the white stucco exterior. It's a nice seamless piece of work.
I regret not taking a "before" pic because he took a worn out, crumbling slab of foundation and made it fresh & new.
