"Everyone that we dealt with couldn?t have been nicer. We had a tub to shower conversion which was completed in one day. Matt, the installer, laid a tarp down from the door to our bathroom to protect the floors. He asked for our input when he was installing the shelves and grab bars. After he finished cleaning everything up he explained how to used the new shower head and what to use to clean the surface. The next day we texted him with a question and he immediately answered. We couldn?t be happier with the job done and the professionalism of the company."

"Don and Carol worked around our schedule and when Covid in our house delayed the completion, they were ready when we got healthier to finish the job. I am very pleased with my new shower, goodbye nasty old tub."

"We've been living in our home for about five years, and the bathroom was one of those projects we kept saying we'd eventually get around to. The old bathtub and shower were still usable, but they were definitely showing their age and didn't really match the way we wanted our home to look anymore. We finally decided it was time to replace our old bathtub and shower. Century City Baths made the process easy, and the installation turned out beautifully. Our bathroom feels fresh, modern, and so much more comfortable now!"

"The installers seemed to have done a good job. They were extremely fast, only taking one day to completely gut and install the new shower system. Although, one handrail was installed on the wrong side. To correct the issue, they came back the next day to install another free handrail on the correct side. The only complaints that I have are the shower wand sprayed black water for about 30 seconds then stopped working. I removed the wand and the water flowed properly from the pipe. I replaced the ?new? wand with my old shower head so we could use the shower. My only other complaint is that my water pressure is about half of what it was before the installation. Since I had to replace the shower head with my original one, I had a good baseline for this comparison. All in all, we?re happy with our new walk-in shower."

"From Start to finish, it was the best experience. I was worried about about the project because of passed experiences. But House Doctors quickly put my worries to rest. The Sales team was open and honest from start to finish. Eric and his team were on time clean and did a great job with the shower. Highly recommend House Doctors"

Customers say: Super punctual

"He was very prompt, cooperative, professional and clean.  He did very good work and more than put in the time I had purchased.  The only reason I did not rate him an A on the work performed is that there were some minor issues.
For example, there was some minor damage done to my bathroom when he removed the tub.  A short piece of baseboard was cracked (will need to be replaced) and there is a minor scratch to the bathroom cabinet that I think was caused when the tub was removed.  The bathroom has no space for errors so I totally understand how the minor damage could have happened. The tub was super heavy and probably was something that should have been done by more than one person so I give him props for doing it solo.  It was something I never could have done on my own.
With the roof, either the replaced shingles or other shingles blew off a week or two later.  I have no way to know whether the ones that came off were already installed or the ones he repaired.  Likely, I need to have someone out to go over the entire roof.
Also, with the baseboard, I had a few pieces that were not stained yet that I asked him to use in the closet where they would not be visible but they ended up in my kitchen in a very obvious spot.  He caulked the top of the baseboard where the wall had gaps and there were quite a few spots that I had to do clean up after he left.  Finally, he offered to put a door stop (his own cost) by my front door because the knob was hitting the wall when the door opened and damaging the wall.  It never occurred to me that he would be screwing something into the brand new baseboard.  He actually made a mistake and made an extra hole a couple of inches to the right of the final one.  The doorstop fell off shortly after, leaving me with two holes...and no door stop.
I struggled with this review because he was clearly trying to help me out and was so generous with his time and worked very, very hard.  The issues I had were things that I consider minor but on the other hand, it also created some extra work for me.  I think he definitely would have come back to address the issues if I had asked but because he did work so hard and the vast majority of what he did was very good quality, I did not feel comfortable calling him back.

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Hampshire, IL

You should regrout tile every 10 to 15 years, provided it is well-maintained with regular cleaning and sealing. Over time, grout can deteriorate due to exposure to moisture, foot traffic, and the use of cleaning agents. If you start to see cracks, discoloration, crumbling grout, or loose tiles, it’s a sign that regrouting is needed sooner.

The most effective way to clean grout involves a combination of powerful cleaning agents and the right tools. Using a dedicated grout brush intensifies the cleaning process, ensuring a deep clean. Create a powerful homemade solution by mixing baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap to break down deeply embedded dirt. After cleaning, reseal the grout to lock in protection and maintain its appearance.

You can't regrout tile without removing the existing grout and expect good, long-lasting results. You must replace the old grout when it begins to crumble and fail. New grout cannot properly adhere to existing grout, meaning moisture will still reach the damaged layer and cause additional water damage, which will be more costly to deal with in the long run.

Visible indicators, such as cracks, stains, chipping, and mold growth, signal that your grout is compromised and no longer maintains its bonding strength. If you notice these issues, cleaning alone won't restore the grout's integrity. In such cases, consider complete or partial regrouting to preserve your surfaces and prevent further damage.
