We were very happy with the end result.  One price factor that seemed high to us was the cost to paint the top of the pole a bright yellow (to caution drivers turning into the alley) - it was approx. $150.  We went with it at the time, but in hindsight that was too much - we could very easily have just painted it ourselves at a SIGNIFICANTLY lower price point, and that's a job we could have easily handled ourselves. We also were concerned when they first arrived to do the repairs - the worker essentially said "tell me what we're doing" (and I was happy to walk him through it - but it seemed like there had been no communication about what the job was).  The worker also was pointing to locations to install the pole that made no sense (e.g., not even close to the corner point that had been crashed), so we put in a call to the main office immediately to make sure they had communicated the job.  Happily I was home (even though I had been told I didn't need to be).  Everything worked out in the end, but it did give me pause.  Otherwise, they were prompt in returning our calls, scheduling the repairs, etc., we were comfortable with the overall price and the quality of the job.  We would use them again for future fence and similar work.

The work crews did an impressive job of demolishing and rebuilding the concrete steps and slab, fixing the mortar in the cinder block walls, building a temporary structure to hold the roof up during construction, recoating the exterior porch walls, and installing new soffit, columns and railings. "I received estimates from 5 contractors, some for timber replacement, some for block. A natural look was important to me, and I seriously considered timber, but timber today won't last 30 years (due to restrictions on using arsenic). The Solid Brick Contracting initial bid was pretty much the same price as timber, and acceptable in anyone's book, but when I told Oscar I was leaning toward timber because of the more natural look, he showed me the stacked stone EP Henry product. I have 2 other stacked stone and mortared stacked stone walls, and looking at photos, I thought the EP Henry product might actually look pretty good, even against those, and it does. There were some rain delays, but workmanship, design, professionalism, were all excellent. No cost over-run, and they had the proper equipment for the job. What exceeded expectations was the beautiful long sweep of a gently curved wall. Can't do that with timber. It was a substantial project, but I am really happy with the result."

"I am so very happy with my new patio and I couldn’t have picked a better company for this job. I have been over the top careful about who to select for this big of a job and Jeffrey (DJA Landscape) was super patient (7 years!!!) and has never put me under any pressure even when I bid out with competitors. After hearing everything about his company, seeing his work, comparing it to others and never feeling pressure, I completely trusted him and his company to do a great job and they did. Everyone, his crew and Jeff himself, work so hard. They are always working (besides the well-deserved lunch break), they are some of the hardest working people I have seen and I was at home every day and my dad watched from afar with his German-patio building standards and he also complimented them from the distance. The crew is extremely skilled and they don’t cut any corners. They all work like a well-oil machine — everything is carefully scheduled and planned. There is no downtime because materials are missing… or such.. everything is always ready. Jeff is great at communicating throughout the process with me and his crew and he checks in and comes by every day. It’s also very easy to communicate with his team who listen and address/change if you have any concerns at all. Jeff will be honest with you, he might not be the cheapest on the market, but after doing all of my research, he is very competitive with other companies and in his case… costs matches value. I highly recommended DJA Landscaping. I am super proud to attach some before and after pictures. I never had a patio before and now I can enjoy the outdoors."

"The designer, Mark Huebner, understood quickly what we wanted and proposed ideas to make our project even more economical and beautiful (see photo of our brick patio and fire pit.) Foreman Roberto was a perfectionist craftsman. Who knew masonry was a spectator sport? Also, they replaced a concrete walkway and driveway. Plus, they installed several big healthy shrubs and a lot of sod. Definitely recommend!"
