"We used this company several years ago and were very happy. Then and now, we found the people very easy to work with. <br /> He was supposed to show up at 9 but didn't arrive until 9:30. He didn't call but he did apologize for being late. We were fine with that as he looked the work over and got right to it. Ron Francis, COO of Maine Construction Group and proud father of Ryan, came and gave us an estimate for the work needing to be performed. His response to our initial call was extremely prompt, the estimate reasonable and at all times Ron was a total professional. He answered all of our questions, of which there were many, without hesitation. Every promise made was fulfilled and their work was above reproach. We had a very tight time-line which we made known to Ron. He checked his schedule, gave us an estimate of the time required and when he could fit the job into the schedule. He gave us an estimated completion date along with his cost estimate. We accepted his proposal and work began as scheduled. The crew put in charge of the project were also highly professional and conscientious. They did the extensive remodel without disrupting the surroundings more than necessary and every evening they cleaned up the area before leaving. They worked long days and partial weekends to complete the job as promised. We were very pleased with the results and felt that the price was reasonable. Our greatest satisfaction was in having the job done well and on time. We are pleased to recommend Maine Construction Group for any work within their capabilities. "Although the project turned out to be more complicated and took longer than expected, this had little to do with <br /> the builder or his sub-contractors. Primarily the delays were due to weather, financing issues, and poor <br /> communications on the part of the town's code enforcement officer. <br /> Let me address this last issue first. Everything seemed to be alright until the pad was poured. The code <br /> enforcement officer was upset that she was not notified prior to the pouring of the cement so she could inspect <br /> the forms and re-bar. This and quot;misunderstandingand quot; occurred because the CEO never communicated to either myself or the <br /> contractor at what points during the project she wanted to perform inspections. However, from this point forward <br /> the CEO seemed to question every aspect of the project. Demonstrating considerable restraint and diplomacy, most <br /> of the time the contractor bowed to her demands (he was much , but drew the line at her trying to force him to <br /> install a water shutoff valve in a location that would likely have caused our well pump to burn out. In this <br /> case Greg Bragg stood his ground, backing it up with State of Maine statutes. <br /> With respect to the weather, June 2013 was one of the wettest on record for Maine. As far as financing, the <br /> magnitude and cost of the project exceeded what we had budgeted and we found out just how difficult it is to <br /> secure financing for rental property, especially if you are setting up a used mobile home. Consequently, we had <br /> to break the project into two phases. <br /> The demolition of the old house and initial site preparation went very smoothly as can be seen in this 8 minute <br /> YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWaJEgV2iJE). <br /> Getting the mobile home onto the pad was a bit more interesting since the ground was still very muddy from all <br /> the rain we received in June and July. Prior to <br /> constructing the gravel pad a brand new water line was installed and was even packed in sand to ensure rocks <br /> would not rupture the line. Unfortunately, a rupture occurred anyway. Fortunately, the contractor promptly <br /> installed a new water line, at no charge to us. <br />"

"I signed a contract with this company and was provide a copy of their insurance certificate.  I appreciated the fact that he didn?t want to be paid anything until the job was done and I was satisfied.   This is how all contractors should work.  The job was supposed to begin on Thursday but they never showed.  I called Chris (the owner) he apologized, explaining that they had run into some unexpected problems on their current job and would begin on Friday.  His crew of 4 began work on Friday at 10 AM.  I was thoroughly impressed by his guys.  They took the time to protect out flower beds, laid tarp on the lawn and worked hard all day.  These guys didn?t stop every few minutes to take breaks they were hard at it.  By the end of day one the roof was stripped and the deck was completely prepped, and several courses of new shingles had started going down.  They cleaned up as they went along.   Day two came; they arrived at 8 AM and started working.  They worked through the persistent pouring rain and were completed by 3 PM.  They cleaned up and and when they left we had only a few minor things to touch up.  The house looked great and I would recommend them. <br /> <br />"
