"We, 500 Majestic Properties, have worked with JD Michael Construction for over two years on several projects. Our most recent project was the complete renovation of 1723 Carrs Mill Rd. Joe, from JD Michael, was involved in every aspect of the project, from initial renovation analysis, budget generation/management, permitting, and beyond. Their primary role was as GC, managing the overall schedule, subcontractor work force, materials management, and interface with local permitting/inspector community. Due to the size and complexity of this effort, JD Michael also performed many general construction activities, to include framing, general carpentry, painting, tiling, cabinetry installation, and more. Beyond excellent workmanship and communication skills, JD Michael was very diligent in their selection of the subcontractor workforce and managed them without scheduling or timing conflicts. On the occasion when a subcontract needed special attention, JD Michael quickly and professional dealt with the vendor to resolve any issue to insure the work was performed in a timely manner with no interruption to other vendors or schedules. We are about to start on another renovation project and we’ve already signed the deal to work with JD Michael Construction."

"This was definitely a 5 star operation from the initial discussions to the finishing touches! For a major renovation and upgrade to our master bathroom we reviewed potential contractors and their customer comments. VKB stood out. Our VKB designer Sean clearly has artistic talent and lots of design experience. He patiently worked with us, showing us 3D design options as we considered alternative configurations and materials. When we were satisfied with the design, Sean transitioned us smoothly to the build phase, introducing Jason as our project manager and Walter as our crew chief. Sean personally familiarized Jason with the project, inviting us to share our thoughts and any concerns. During the renovation, Walter and his crew would carefully isolate the MBR work from the rest of the house, sealing off the room and path to the front door with plastic barriers and floor coverings every morning and remove them every evening. Everyone was polite and sensitive to our living space. Jason was responsive to our wishes to refine several design aspects as the work proceeded, and Walter and his crew smoothly made the alterations. After the main construction was completed Jason remained very attentive to our ‘punch list’ of remaining details and our questions until all had been resolved. Walter ensured very high-quality work down to the finest detail. All the work from design to completion was well within the timeframe we had hoped. In the end, we have a beautiful MBR well beyond our original expectations!"

"I had water leaking between the sunroom and family room via the doorway. I had pay extra given the fact that this problem was years old and there was substantial wood rot. The result? New siding, new sun roof tiles as well as patial sunroom roof replacement. The workers were very professional even though communication was difficult since they were Georgian but it was a pleasure trying to communicate with them as well as having them fix my house. "Everything from the bidding process, through completion, was handled with the utmost care and professionalism. Dimitri and every person who he brought into our home treated it as anyone would want their own to be treated. This was not a small project. They vaulted the ceiling in the living area, completely removing the roof on half the house, and did a full new roof. Matched the existing red oak hardwood flooring, and sanded/re-stained the entire upstairs. All the plumbing and electrical in the entire house was replace. New kitchen, 3.5 new bathrooms, finished basement, combined two bedrooms to make a master suite. New HVAC. New generator…. You name it, and it was done. When all was said and done, I think our two hall bedrooms were the one walls that weren’t torn down. We could not possibly recommend Dimitri and his company (his two sons work with him as well) any higher. They are honest, and hard working. Old school in all the best ways."

Our designer Julie gave us a design that we really like and maximize the use of the space. Justin Mason the project manager was great to work with. He kept us informed about the status of the project and was available whenever we had questions. Most importantly he was honest and upfront about any change orders to make sure we were comfortable with them before accepting them. Franklin and his crew who did the day to day work were great guys and really worked hard to make sure we had a quality project. I couldn't be happier with their service and look forward to working with them in the future."
